The present invention involves a kind of guardrail device used for a highway, wherein, said guardrail plate is formed by PVC resin and has reinforcing bands fixed therein; a bracket is set between a small vertical column and the guardrail plate, the bracket being fixed to the small vertical column, the guardrail plate being fixed to the bracket by frame bolts; a middle large vertical column mechanism is comprised of a middle connecting plate, a connecting ring and a guardrail plates having end portions; two guardrail plates wind reversely within the connecting ring; an end large vertical column mechanism comprises a sheath, an end connecting plate and guardrail plates having end portions, the sheath is fixed to the end large vertical column, the outer sheath is wound around by guardrail plates which are fixed to the end connecting plate by frame bolts. The whole design of the invention is reasonable in structure, have good performance of collision resistance, low cost and long life performance. It displays nice cushion property at the moment of vehicle collision and uneasily to impose scratch on the car, which greatly reduce the possibility to cause secondary damage to the passenger and vehicle. Moreover, the material used brings no pollution to the environment, therefore it's green.

The side walls are adapted to be angled relative to the rigid member in a direction of movement of the object when the panel member is mounted to the rigid member. An impact on the panel member will tend to deform the panel member toward the rigid member in the direction of movement of the object. This deformation allows the panel member to absorb the energy of the object for decelerating and redirecting the object subsequent to impact. An energy absorbing barrier is also provided comprising a plurality of the panel members mounted at spaced intervals along the rigid member. The panel members are positioned in adjacent relation for allowing relative independent movement of the panel members upon impact. Impact of a panel member will transmit the force of the impact to adjacent panel members which are similarly deformed for successively absorbing energy and redirecting the object subsequent to impact at an angle relative to the rigid member less than the angle of impact.

Methods for fabricating laminations to form structural elements of predetermined shapes (120, 220, 420, 520, 620) are provided. Laminations include parts (22, 24) fabricated from the tread portion (42) of discarded rubber tires. The parts are typically arranged in layers with various relationships therebetween. The parts are pressed to remove all voids therebetween causing dynamic tension which creates rigidity and then bonded with methods including vulcanization, chemical vulcanization, epoxy and adhesive.

The present invention relates to a method of illuminating bridge and road guard rails. In a first embodiment, the outside of the rails are coated with a reflective material and then co-extruded with an acrylic material whit the acrylic material surrounding the rail. In a second embodiment, instead of one acrylic material, two or more acrylic materials are extruded wherein the rail is in the center, an inner acrylic tube surrounds the rail and an outer acrylic tube surrounds both the rail and the inner acrylic tube. The inner tube could have a colored shiny or reflective covering, or stripes of one or more colors, or a picture or design on the outside or within the tube. The outer acrylic tube would fit snugly over the first or inner acrylic tube. Multiple tubes could be used with different parts of a picture or design on each succeeding tube, creating the effect of depth or three dimensions to the illuminated design. In a third embodiment, the bridge or road guard rails can be retrofitted with the acrylic coverings. The acrylic coverings are manufactured in two longitudinal half pieces that fit together along the length of the rail section. The two acrylic coverings can be joined together using screws, bolts or snap fittings or similar connection devices known to those in the art. Alternatively, the two acrylic coverings can be joined via a collar that is also made in two halves. The collars fit around the rail and are located against the rail post at each end of the rail section.
