    摘要: A sign post is formed of a lower support component for anchoring within terrain, leaving an exposed upper portion above the surface of such terrain. The support component includes an array of longitudinally regularly spaced apertures. An upper support component formed having the same cross-sectional configuration and regularly spaced apertures is attached to the lower component at the exposed portion through the utilization of a splicing technique. The splice is formed as a stress transfer bar having two strategically positioned bores therein. These bores are spaced apart longitudinally a distance representing an even integer of the upper and lower component aperture spacing. Breakaway bolts are positioned through one of the components and into and through the stress transfer bar, and then the second component is attached with nuts being positioned and tightened over the bolts as they extend through the stress transfer bar. This assures that the bolts will be properly longitudinally spaced such that the sign will properly break away when struck by an errant motor vehicle, but the sign will withstand requisite wind loadings.

    摘要: A water pedestal for supplying water to a recreational vehicle. The water pedestal includes a housing having a tubular wall, an open lower end and an open upper end. A flexible conduit is located substantially within the housing, the flexible conduit having a lower end extending below said open lower end of said housing and adapted to be attached to an underground water main. The flexible conduit has an upper end attached to a ball valve. The flexible conduit is formed into a loop between the upper and lower ends thereof. Rigid conduit means communicate the ball valve with an anti-syphon hose bib. The hose bib includes a rigid pipe and a faucet attached to the outer end of the rigid pipe, the rigid pipe extending through the wall of the water pedestal housing adjacent the upper end of the housing. A tubular slip sleeve is located within the housing and attached to the tubular wall of the housing at a mid-portion thereof. The tubular slip sleeve is positioned around the loop of flexible conduit and holds it in place within the housing. A cap is removably attached to the open upper end of the housing. In use the lower end of the housing is surrounded by a non-packing filler material. If the water pedestal is struck at a low speed by a recreational vehicle, the housing will tilt in the non-packing filler material and the flexible conduit will pull excess length from the loop without rupturing at the connection between the flexible conduit and the water main.

    摘要: The present application is concerned with an elongated stiff but bendable plastic article which finds particular utility in highway delineators. The article has a central lens shape in the cross-section perpendicular to its longitudinal axis which is formed by joining two sheets along both of their longitudinal edges. The sheets both have parallel longitudinal edges and are configured in an arc in their shorter dimension. A reverse radius is provided in each longitudinal edge just before it joins the similar edge of the other sheet to allow the article to bent 90.degree. across its longitudinal axis in the plane of the sheets' juncture without significant plastic deformation. The article is constructed of a thermoplastic that can sustain substantial elastic deformation.
