摘要: An installation for the in-port storage of liquid fuel, which is formed near a dock, is formed of at least an upper surface substantially parallel to the free surface of the sea; and a frontal surface adjacent to the upper surface and partially immersed. The installation includes at least one module having a floating caisson containing a fluidtight tank that may contain liquid fuel and having a closed contour formed of an upper face, a lower face, and several lateral faces. The module is fixed to the dock by anchoring means connecting one of the lateral faces of the caisson to the frontal surface of the dock, the lower face and the lateral faces of the caisson therefore being at least partially immersed.

摘要: A coinjection molding apparatus is disclosed that provides first and second material melt streams to a nozzle. The nozzle defines a first material melt passage for receiving the first material melt stream, a second material melt passage for receiving the second material melt stream and an outer layer melt passage, which receives a portion of the first material melt stream from the first material melt passage. The first material melt stream from the first material melt passage forms an inner layer of a molded article, the second material melt stream from the second material melt passage forms a core layer of the molded article, and the first material melt stream from the outer layer melt passage forms an outer layer of the molded article, wherein the three melt streams combine prior to entering a mold cavity.

摘要: A plastic structural panel and ground erosion barrier made therefrom in which the panel is in strip form relatively narrow compared to its length and which in general is a stretched Z-shaped cross sectional design with opposed male and female interlock edges for mating association with adjacent panel strips. The panel strip design has a "V" configuration on opposite faces and allows optional top-to-top alignment of adjacent panels for a composite deep "V" cross sectional shaped wall or alternate top-to-bottom turnover of adjacent panel strips to provide a thicker box ribbed cross sectional shape for the wall. The composite deep V-shaped cross section provides a greater breadth of coverage but less section modulus than the box ribbed construction. By incorporating in the design a capability of a slight flex in the panel and by forming the female interlock sections with a gap allowing alignment of adjacent panels with a small angular degree orientation, a number of wall bends or configurations can be imparted to wall constructions without need for extra components or different shaped panel strips for bends or nonconformities in alignment of the wall construction.

摘要: A seawall is provided by embedding perforate polymer mats within an earthen formation and securing the mats to stacked preformed concrete panels at the face of the formation. The mats are wrapped around rods and secured to the panels by capturing the rods between opposed surfaces on the panels. Seals and filter closures are disposed between the panels to shield the formation from sloughing and the intrusion of water.

摘要: A retaining wall disposed along the embankment of a body of water to protect the embankment from erosion due to movement of the body of water. The retaining wall comprises a plurality of pilings disposed adjacent to one another along the contour of the embankment. A porous material is disposed adjacent to the landward side of the pilings for covering the natural orifices which exist between each pair of pilings. The porous material precludes sand and soil constituting the embankment from being washed out through the natural orifices. The deck of the retaining wall comprises a plurality of deck members which are connected in a spaced apart relationship to the upper portions of the pilings and extend substantially perpendicular therefrom to the embankment. The foregoing abstract is merely a resume of one general application, is not a complete discussion of all principles of operation or applications and is not to be construed as a limitation on the scope of the claimed subject matter.
