    Abstract: A stormwater treatment system and method for removing sediment, chemical pollutants, and debris from stormwater runoff by utilizing bioretention practices including physical, chemical and biological processes. Stormwater is directed into a primarily open-bottomed, multi-dimensional container whereby entrained sediment and other transportable materials are filtered and treated through a media filter layer consisting of inorganic and/or organic materials. A live plant (preferably a tree) situated within the container with roots resident in the media filter layer with the ability for expansion beyond the perimeter of the container through openings in one or more sidewalls. The treated water may be further conveyed beyond the perimeter of the container by additional openings and/or piping. A vertically positioned overflow/bypass/clean out piping apparatus may be included within the stormwater treatment system to provide additional water conveyance. Additional ancillary conveyance, filtration and storage facilities may be connected to the described stormwater treatment system as conditions warrant.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an irrigation and drainage device and/or water storage device, preferably for managing water, in particular irrigation of (green) areas and/or plants, comprising the following:

    at least one water-collection device (10, 20, 30, 40, 64) designed to collect and/or store water, wherein the water-collection device (10, 20, 30, 40, 64) is in direct or indirect fluid connection with a buffer (tank) (60) and/or a storage reservoir (80),
    wherein the buffer (tank) (60) and/or the storage reservoir (80) is/are designed to store water and to make the stored water available for use, for example to release it into an irrigation pipe network (85);
    at least one control unit (61, 130), which is designed to receive and/or acquire environmental data, in particular to acquire these data by means of at least one sensor (100), and based on the environmental data, using at least one actuator, for example a control valve (84), to make available for use a water volume flow from the buffer (tank) (60) and/or from the storage reservoir (80), for example to control it in the irrigation pipe network (85).

    Abstract: A super drainage system and a method for flood control comprise an open channel, a reinforced concrete conduit (RCC) inside the open channel. The RCC has a bottom slab supported on a riverbed, a bank-side wall for retaining bank soils, and a top slab elevated above a predetermined level. The RCC supports a road below the top of river banks for traffic traveling along the river banks during normal weather conditions. The traffic is either on the top slab or on the bottom slab. During extreme weather conditions, traffic is evacuated from the super drainage system and the entire space is available for water conveyance.

    Abstract: A water storage and management system takes water from a water source, such as captured run-off, and through a piping system, directs a flow of the water into an aquifer for storage and future utilization. Using moisture detectors, the system ascertains the water content of different layers or zones of the aquifer and reports this information to a digital processor. The digital processor may utilize this information to issue instructions to one or more control valves to direct the flow of the water into portions of the aquifer which have additional storage capacity. The digital processor may also instruct a submersible pump to withdraw from the aquifer as desired.
