摘要: THIS invention relates to a method of disposing of residues from the comminution and processing of ores. The method includes the steps of classifying the processing residues into a water permeable sand fraction and a tailings fraction and depositing the tailings fraction and the sand fraction to form a multilayer structure contained by at least one containment wall (14) with the sand fraction forming continuous channels (12) through the tailings fraction (10) to allow water contained in the tailings and sand to flow by gravity, through the sand channels, to water discharge points (16), and recovering the water (18) from the water discharge points.

摘要: A method for reinforcing soft ground by post-grouting combined with pressurized vacuum preloading is proposed, by pre-burying prefabricated vertical drains and air-boosted pipes in granular material piles, and the air-boosted pipes are used as grouting pipes to reduce the number of times of piling, which not only improves the construction efficiency, but also reduces the structural disturbance of the soil and the influence of smear effect, thus reducing the impact on the radial permeability and the radial consolidation coefficients. The method does not use geotextile bags for granular materials, which can avoid the problem of forming a localized clogging area around the geotextile bags, and the method not only improves the efficiency of vacuum transfer in a pre-consolidation stage, but also improves the grouting effect in the later stage, effectively enhances the strength of soft soil and makes granular material piles and the surrounding soil form composite ground.

摘要: An improved liquid run-off disposal system is described having an infiltration chamber 72 with first and second sidewalls 74. In cross-sectional view the first and second sidewalls 74 each include an inner surface 76 and outer surface 78, and each sidewall 74 includes a plurality of integrated louvre-shaped apertures 80. In cross-sectional view each louvre-shaped aperture 80 includes an upper surface 82 and a lower surface 84 which are angled upwards from the outer surface 78 and protrude inwards from the inner surface 76 into the interior of the infiltration chamber 72. The upper and lower surfaces 82, 84 comprise a plurality of angled sections, the angled sections being arranged so as to form a substantially vertical flow path through a portion of the aperture 80. The angled sections of the upper and lower surfaces 82, 84 are arranged at an angle and of a length so as to substantially overlap when viewed in a horizontal direction. The overlapping region “Y1” ensures that the apertures 80 will admit the exit of water but substantially inhibit the entry of soil wherein, in use, when liquid run-off is piped into the infiltration chamber 72 it can drain away through the apertures 80 and into the surrounding soil.

摘要: A filter assembly for allowing groundwater to flow through a hole in a seawall from a landward side of the seawall to a seaward side of the seawall includes a housing with a flange and a perforated shell. The filter assembly also includes a filter cartridge configured to be removably positioned inside the shell and a face plate positioned over the opening and removably connected to the seaward side of the flange thereby securing the filter cartridge inside the shell. The filter assembly also includes a valve member that is operable in an open state and in a closed state. The filter assembly also includes a deflection device connected to a seaward side of the face plate over the valve member. The deflection device is configured to prevent interference of the valve member.

摘要: A plastic arch-shape cross section corrugated stormwater chamber has a multiplicity of crest corrugations and valley corrugations which run transverse to its length. Sub-corrugations run along part or all of the arch-curve lengths of either crest corrugations or valley corrugations, or along both of them. A sub-corrugations are smaller in dimension than an associated crest corrugation or valley corrugation. Sub-corrugations may taper in width and depth and may taper to nothingness. A compound convex shape end cap, useful for closing off the ends of stormwater chambers, has substantially vertical corrugations with analogous sub-corrugations.
