摘要： A bracket for attaching bridging members to a thermal stud being generally C-shaped with parallel spaced apart flanges connected by a central web having opening in the web of the stud which spans the majority of the width of the web and where the openings are provided with flanges extending perpendicularly from the edges of the opening into the interior of the stud. The bracket is a generally L-shaped bracket having a leg with a means to properly locate a bridging member centrally within the bracket and the stud wall and a base for overlying the web of the stud. The base has a width approximately the same as the stud and preferably has flanges extending perpendicularly from the base at either end thereof to engage and be able to attach to the flanges of the stud. The base is also provided with a centrally located tab extending perpendicularly from the base to allow the bracket to be properly positioned within the web of the stud.

摘要： Studs and plates used to retain compressible insulating panels against sagging in a hollow wall. Also, bars for securing rigid insulating panels in a wall. All of these elements are made of sheet metal and include struck-out prongs defining a similarly-shaped opening in the sheet metal. These prongs are elongated, with a pointed face end and teeth laterally projecting from one side. The inner end of each prong is integrally retained to the sheet metal and the prong can be bent into an operative position, normal to the sheet metal from an inoperative position nearly parallel to the sheet metal. A stop protrudes from the prong at the bending line to abut the sheet metal and maintain the prong in its operative position. The prong, in its inoperative position, protruding from one side of the sheet metal and offset with respect to the opening in the sheet metal, such as that it can be bent through said opening. Therefore, the user cannot bend the prong in the wrong direction.

摘要： A wall frame is constructed with a pair of horizontally disposed metal channel members and a series of vertical studs spaced at predetermined intervals along the channel members. The studs are accurately located within the channel members by vertically upstanding tab stops which are struck out from the channel members. Pronged retainers are also struck outwardly from the channel members to fit through alignment slots formed in the studs. Weakened areas on the channel members can be crimped against the studs to lock the studs in place on the channel members. Horizontally disposed spacer bars are adapted to interconnect with a series of studs to strengthen and further align the studs and to provide a support surface against which dry wall or the like may be fastened.

摘要： A metal stud assembly includes a stud used in constructing a metal wall frame between two channel members, and an extender longitudinally slidably mounted within the stud. The stud includes a central column portion, two side walls formed on opposite sides of the central column portion, a retainer, at least one alignment slot formed in the stud for receiving the retainer formed on one of the channel members, and an indented portion formed in at least one of the side walls for receiving a spacer bar. The alignment slot is formed in at least one end portion of the central column portion. The extender includes an upper portion having side walls parallel to the side walls of the stud, and a lower portion having side walls that join the upper portion side walls at a top end and which taper at a bottom end to fit within the stud.
