Abstract:
A functional training rig kit includes a box and a plurality of components adapted to fit within the box. At least some of the components and the box include elements by which the components are adapted to be attached to the outside of the box to provide at least one functional training rig attached to the outside of the box.
Abstract:
An L-shaped module for construction of tiered stadium seating is provided. The module is formed from a plurality of hollow extrusions that are longitudinally welded to form a riser portion and a runner portion. The riser portion rises vertically from a connection to the runner portion. The interior of the extrusions may be used as concealment spaces for hardware or to aid in fluid drainage. Connections to a support structure may be spaced at distances of 20 feet or greater.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a portico for saddle-shaped tents. The portico includes a drape that is suspended from the saddle-frame of the saddle-shaped tent. The portico also includes a portico-frame that has a horizontal beam, which beam is attached to the lower edge of the drape. The portico-frame may also include posts. In one embodiment of the invention, the portico acts as a joiner to join two adjacent saddle-shaped tents. The invention includes tents and compound tent-structures that incorporate the portico.
Abstract:
A deployable and inflatable roof, wall, or other structure has first and second covers made of flexible panels and cables arranged from edge to edge along the covers. Couplings along the edges of the covers connect the structure to supports, such as rails on which the structure can deploy and other supports of a building. Air from blowers blow air in between the covers to inflate the structure like an air cushion. In addition to cables, lateral support for the structure can use struts disposed edge to edge along the covers. Traction or rack and pinion drive mechanisms or cable drive systems can be used to deploy and retract the structure along the rails to cover or open a rooftop or other opening or area of the building.
Abstract:
A structural system for use in areas in which space is valuable. The structural system has the ability to transform from a first object or shape into a self-contained meeting center. The structural system may be used for interior and exterior applications. The structural system may also include a mobile, micro-climate controlled chair system.
Abstract:
A filtration and dispensing system that is particularly suitable for underdeveloped parts of the world is provided for storing, filtering, and dispensing rainwater, surface water, or groundwater. The system includes a bank of ceramic filters, a water retention container for holding water to be dispensed by the system, and at least one header tank to which water supplied from the water retention container is fed. A pump is utilized to withdraw water from a lower portion of the water retention container and supplied to the header tank. The withdrawn water is distributed by way of piping from the header tank to individual ceramic filters in the bank of ceramic filters, and a collection tank receives filtered water discharged from the bank of ceramic filters. Trickle feed nozzles or other discharge elements are used to discharge the filtered water from the collection tank for use.
Abstract:
An access control system includes first and second portable containers. The first portable container comprises a first sidewall opening and the second portable container comprises a second sidewall opening. The portable containers are arranged such that the first sidewall opening in the first portable container communicates with the second sidewall opening in the second portable container. The first portable container comprises a passing room disposed in the first portable container. The passing room includes a barrier device located in the walkway defining a first space between a first passing room opening and the barrier device, and a second space between the barrier device and a second passing room opening. The access control system is constructed such that when the access control system is disposed between a first area and an enclosed second area ingress and egress from and to the second area is controlled by the access control system.
Abstract:
The complex, intended for application in big cities or city centers, where space for garages, storehouses and similar facilities is to be ensured, comprises a yard (1), situated between roadways (2) and railed off by a fence (3) with entrance door (4). In the yard (1) a school building (5) is situated and a sports-, play- and common activities zone (6) is shaped. In this zone (6), there is an at least two-storeyed underground construction (7), to which an approach (10) is shaped. In the approach area (10) there is a single-storeyed over-ground part (11). The construction (7) includes walls (12), bearing intermediate pillars (13) and floor panels (14) founding on the longitudinal footings of supporting beams (15). The pillars (13) have short consoles (16), where the beams (15) are mounted and they are restrained in monolithic footings (20), with their bottom ribbed ends (21) placed in preliminary prepared cups (22) encompassing this ribbed ends (21). The cups (22) have an internal ribbed surface (23) and partial outer ribbing (24).
Abstract:
A structural system for use in areas in which space is valuable. The structural system is a self-contained meeting center capable of transforming from a closed storage position into an open position for conducting a meeting. The structural system may be used for interior and exterior applications. The structural system may also include a mobile, micro-climate controlled chair system.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a spatial arrangement which comprises a basin (1) as well as a cupola-like structure (2) to be arranged over the basin. Said cupola-like structure (2) is arranged so that its edges (4) essentially follow the basin's (1) edges (3). An apparatus (6) for regulating the local climate is connected to the space provided by said arrangement, by means of which apparatus (6) the climate prevailing within the cupola-like structure can be locally regulated. The present invention also relates to such a structure as well as to a method for regulating the climate within a structure.
