    Abstract: The proposed handcuff in the invention employs an innovative locking mechanism, which stops further tightening of the handcuff when the force applied on the wrist of hand or ankle of foot is greater than 1.5 lbs (or any preset value), and prevents physical injuries from over-tightening without compromising the restrain. A notch on the first tooth of the left/right stop pawl prevent the handcuff from being shimmed, a floating pawl keeps the middle stop pawl sticking with the stop ratchet when it moves 2-5 mm sideways. The handcuff is 50% faster in restraining by automatically locking instead of manually push-to-locking. The handcuff has the same shape/size/cost of the handcuffs currently used by police officer, and is compatible with current training procedure or SOP.

    Abstract: A handcuff ring with mechanism for enhanced locking includes a stationary strand and a movable strand. The stationary strand is provided therein with an engaging clement, a stop portion, and an elastic element that is located between, and can push respectively, the engaging element and the stop portion. At least one locking groove is formed on the front side and/or the rear side of the stationary strand, and a thin rod, when being inserted from outside into the locking groove, can press an end of the stop portion to displace the stop portion toward a keyhole, so that the abutting portions of the stop portion and the engaging element abut against each other. Accordingly, through the locking groove(s) located on the front side and/or the rear side of the handcuff ring, a user can conveniently push the stop portion by the thin rod to finish the enhanced locking process.

    Abstract: A handcuff of the present invention includes a first forged cheek frame half including a first cheek arm and a first lockset cavity portion and a second forged cheek frame half including a second cheek arm and a second lockset cavity portions. When the first and second forged cheek frame halves are combined, the first and second lockset cavity portions portion combine to form a lockset cavity between the first and second cheek frame halves. A removable lock mechanism disposed within the lockset cavity, the lock mechanism comprising movable pawls corresponding to the teeth, wherein the pawls releasably engage the teeth when the bow is rotated into engagement with the lock mechanism.
