In the present invention, the mining of coal and uranium resources is realized through the mining mechanism, the subsidence and seepage reduction of the stratum is realized through the grouting mechanism, and the effective utilization of waste resources is realized through the energy mechanism. Finally, with the efficient cooperation of the three mechanisms, safe and efficient development and utilization of co-associated resources in the full life cycle are realized, and the purposes of green and efficient mining of coal and uranium resources and secondary development of a coal seam goaf are achieved, thereby facilitating the realization of dual-carbon goals and the development of low-carbon green energy.

A downhole mixing tool and method for removing sand and other debris from a wellbore which combines the sand with a treatment fluid so that the sand is lifted to the surface of the well for removal. The tool includes a chamber into which the sand laden fluid is drawn and the treatment fluid is introduced. Ports into the chamber are arranged to provide a pressure drop to draw the sand laden fluid into the chamber and a mixing time within the chamber before sand laden fluid of lower viscosity exits the chamber to travel to the surface. Additional features include blades on the tool for breaking up obstructions prior to being drawn into the chamber and a lubricating line through the tool to introduce lubricating fluid to the blades.

A subterranean method of processing a hydrocarbon fluid-containing deposit includes, from a subterranean room, providing a borehole into a deposit containing formation fluid comprising fluid hydrocarbon. The borehole has a first end at a wall of the subterranean room, and a second end remote from the subterranean room and received within the deposit. The first end is elevationally lower than the second end. A string of pipe is provided within the borehole from the subterranean room. A cuttings removal fluid is injected from the string of pipe into the borehole and against a wall of the borehole in underbalanced pressure conditions. One of drilling, reaming, or jetting is conducted within the borehole during said injecting of the cuttings removal fluid. Formation fluid comprising fluid hydrocarbon is flowed from the deposit into the borehole during said injecting of the cuttings removal fluid. The injected cuttings removal fluid and the formation fluid within the borehole are flowed at least in part by gravity downhole externally of the string of pipe in underbalanced pressure conditions within the borehole and into the subterranean room. Other implementations and aspects are contemplated.

A connector assembly (61) comprising a male connector element (61a) having a locking shank (101) and a female connector element (61b) having a locking cavity (133) with an external opening. The locking shank (101) is receivable in the locking cavity (133) through the external opening. The male connector element (61a) presents a male contact face (111) and the female connector element (61b) presents a female contact face (123), the male and female connector elements (61a, 61b) being configured for interaction therebetween with the contact faces (111, 123) in abutting engagement when the locking shank (101) is received in the locking cavity to resist a separating force applied between the male and female connector elements. The interaction between the male and female connector elements (61a, 61b) is provided at spaced apart locations lengthwise along the shank.

Method of, and apparatus for, sinking bore holes, in particular exploratory and extraction bore holes, in the sea bed (40). The material from the sea bed is loosened with the aid of a rotating drill head (10) which is arranged at the bottom end of a drill string (5) which is suitable for transmitting a torque. The top end of the drill string is mounted on a floating platform (1), it being the case that the drill string (5) comprises at least two telescopically interengaging drill-string parts (6, 7) which, during a vertical movement of the platform, induced for example by the sea swell, execute a movement relative to one another, with the result that the drill head (10) rests with an essentially constant force on the surface which is to be cleared away.

A jet boring pre-assembly for excavating an underground area susceptible to disaggregation and for control from a working gallery below the area includes a cutting head for the top of the assembly, the cutting head having separate conduits for delivery of high pressure cutting fluid to high pressure nozzles, and a low pressure flushing fluid to flushing nozzles. A dual conduit drilling rod is located in a borehole beneath the cutting head, the rod having separate conduits for delivery of the high pressure and low pressure fluids to the cutting head. A preventor box below the cutting head seals the borehole and transmits slurry of excavated material to an outlet.

A borehole mining process for recovery of petroleum from unconsolidated heavy oil formations. The process consists of drilling a borehole in the unconsolidated heavy oil reservoir, which is formed from sand particles aggregated by heavy oil, and positioning a casing and a first and second tubing string within the borehole. At least one nozzle is positioned on the lower end of the second tubing string and is oriented for fluid emission generally radially outwardly from the second tubing string. Fluid is then flowed downwardly through the second tubing string and outwardly through the nozzle, thereby eroding a cavity in the reservoir and forming a slurry consisting of the fluid, the heavy oil, and the particles from the reservoir. The slurry is flowed upwardly through the annulus between the first and second tubing strings to the upper end of the borehole for recovery of the heavy oil.

A method of removing a mineable product, such as coal, from an underground seam of mineable product, such as a coal seam includes the steps of drilling a vertical hole from the earth's surface through the seam of mineable product, installing in the recovery hole a vertical auger and a pipe extending from the auger to the earth's surface, drilling a plurality of closely spaced apart injection holes from the earth's surface through the seam of mineable product, the injection holes being drilled in a pattern extending from the recovery hole, inserting an explosive in the seam of mineable product where penetrated by each of the injection holes, sequentially igniting the explosive in each of the injection holes to blast fractured mineable material from the seam, injecting water sequentially in the injection holes to move fractured mineable material toward the recovery hole and operating the auger to raise to the earth's surface the fractured mineaable product that has been blasted from the seam.

The invention is an improvement in borehole mining which overcomes the conventional problem in hydraulic mining of removing rock fragments and ore from beneath the surface by utilizing a foam/air conveyance technique. This eliminates the need for a pump and overcomes the drawback of short pump life that is ordinarily encountered when pumps are engaged in pumping fluid slurries containing a high component of fragmented rock. A foaming agent, such as an organic sulfonic acid surfactant is introduced into the borehole, preferably combined in the water used to dislodge the particles thereby foaming during mining. The foam containing the entrained particles is removed to the surface by a gas, e.g., air under sufficient pressure and rate to maintain the flow from the well bore. The foam is broken at the surface by conventional methods and the mined particles recovered.
