Abstract: Various hoisting systems with heave compensation are provided. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a winch having a rotatable drum and a heave compensation system with both active and passive drive input devices. The heave compensation system can be coupled to the rotatable drum so that the active and passive drive input devices can each be used to drive rotation of the rotatable drum in response to heaving motion of the winch. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: A device for suspending a tubular from a floating vessel includes a first element which carries the tubular, a second element supported by the floating vessel, and a compression element which forms a connection between the first element and the second element. The compression element is pre-tensioned in an end stroke position so that, when the compression element is subjected to a force from the tubular which is below a pre-defined threshold force, the connection formed by the compression element between the first and second element is a rigid connection, and, when the compression element is subject to a force from the tubular which is higher than the pre-defined threshold force, the connection formed by the compression element between the first and second element is a compressible connection.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for riser string handling on an offshore drilling vessel (1), the offshore drilling vessel comprising a multiple firing line hoist system, a riser tensioner system (50) arranged in the second firing line, and a suspended riser transfer device (60). The method comprising the steps of lowering a riser string in the first firing line, and simultaneously assembling and preparing a riser tensioner system in the second firing line, wherein the riser hang-off assembly displaces the riser string, leaving the top end of the riser string exposed, from the first firing line to the second firing line to be connected to the riser tensioner system.

Abstract: A wellbore intervention tool conveyance system includes an upper pipe injector disposed in a pressure tight housing. The upper injector has a seal element engageable with a wellbore intervention tool and disposed below the injector. The upper housing has a coupling at a lower longitudinal end. A lower pipe injector is disposed in a pressure tight housing, the lower housing has well closure elements disposed above the lower pipe injector. The lower housing is configured to be coupled at a lower longitudinal end to a subsea wellhead. The lower housing is configured to be coupled at an upper longitudinal end to at least one of (i) a spacer spool disposed between the upper pipe injector housing and the lower pipe injector housing, and (ii) the lower longitudinal end of the upper pipe injector housing.

Abstract: The present disclosure is to systems and methods for actuating pneumatic controls of reels electronically via a remote console, thus expanding remote control capabilities in a combination of hazardous and undesignated areas for oil and gas technologies. The method includes receiving, at a second control network from a first control network, electrical control signals for controlling pneumatic solenoids of a second control network. The second control network provides pneumatic signals to pneumatic valves, based at least in part on the control of the pneumatic solenoids. A controlling feature of the present disclosure is based at least in part on the pneumatic signals, to control, via the pneumatic valves, spooling movement of one or more reels comprising cables or feed lines, thereby spooling the cable or the feed lines.

Abstract: Various hoisting systems using multiple hoisting lines in shared block-and-tackle arrangements are provided. Abstract: A hydraulic cylinder unit for connection to a wire line riser tensioner system includes a hydraulic cylinder comprising a cylinder piston separating a first cylinder chamber from a second cylinder chamber.
