Abstract: An optimized design method and system for carbon dioxide geological storage parameters of a depleted gas reservoir is provided, including: collecting data of a depleted gas reservoir in which carbon dioxide geological storage is to be carried out, and establishing a numerical simulation model of the depleted gas reservoir; carrying out fitting of production performance history to obtain current state information; simulating and predicting production performance data after carbon dioxide injection into depleted oil and gas reservoirs under different combinations of well pattern parameters and injection parameters using a numerical simulation technology; calculating a parameter value representing a uniform pressure rise according to the production performance data; updating well pattern parameters and injection parameters using a genetic algorithm; repeating above steps until an iterative convergence condition is met; and determining an optimal combination of carbon dioxide injection process parameters according to an output optimal target value.

Abstract: A method to perform a drilling operation in a field is disclosed. The method includes computing profiles of candidate wells in the field, each profile including points associated with a corresponding well, each point corresponding to a configuration and trajectory of said corresponding well and including a value pair of performance and drilling cost of said corresponding well, generating, based on the profiles, a ranking of the candidate wells, selecting, from the candidate wells and according to the ranking, selected candidate wells, selecting, from the points associated with each selected candidate well, a number of selected points, performing, for each of the number of selected points, reservoir simulation to generate simulation results, comparing the simulation results to a pre-determined criterion to generate a validated point, and performing, based on the configuration and trajectory of the validated point, the drilling operation.

Abstract: An apparatus for obtaining fluids via a well is disclosed. The apparatus includes an outer tubing disposed in the well and set at a shallow reservoir comprising a first fluid, an inner tubing disposed concentrically within the outer tubing and set at a deeper reservoir further downhole than the shallow reservoir, the deeper reservoir comprising a second fluid, a first packer disposed between the outer tubing and an external tubing and disposed above the shallow reservoir, and a second packer disposed between the outer tubing and the inner tubing and disposed above the deeper reservoir, wherein the second packer blocks an annulus through which the first fluid is extracted via the outer tubing. The first fluid is obtained from the shallow reservoir and the second fluid is obtained from the deeper reservoir by drilling via the well.

Abstract: A method for enhanced recovery of hydrocarbonaceous fluids, the method including the steps of creating a plurality of wellbores in a subterranean formation, whereby one or more of the plurality of wellbores may include a directionally drilled portion with solution disposed therein, and an electrode operatively connected with a power source. Other steps include generating an electrical field within the subterranean formation, thereby causing an electrochemical reaction to produce a gas from the solution, such that the gas mixes with hydrocarbonaceous fluids present in the formation and increases pressure within at least one of the plurality of wellbores, the subterranean formation, and combinations thereof, thereby enhancing recovery of the hydrocarbonaceous fluid.
