The first actuator is coupled to the frame and includes a first end extendable in a first direction to engage the first mine surface. The extension of the first actuator is automatically controlled based on measurements of at least one indicator of the force between the first actuator and the first mine surface.

摘要: The present invention relates to a self-propelled construction machine, in particular a road milling machine, a recycler or a surface miner, comprising a machine frame 1 supported by a chassis 2 which comprises front and rear running gear 3, 4. A working device 5 is arranged on the machine frame 1 and comprises a working roller 17 for working the ground. Lifting devices 15, 16 are associated with the individual running gears 3, 4 and can each be retracted or extended for raising or lowering the running gears with respect to the machine frame. In addition, the construction machine comprises a control unit 20 for actuating the lifting devices 15, 16, which control unit comprises a lifting position measuring device 22 for detecting the lifting position of the lifting devices and a tilt detection device 23 for detecting the tilt of the machine frame 1 transversely to the working direction A of the construction machine. The control unit 20 provides a first mode of operation for working the ground and a second mode of operation for moving the construction machine, and is characterised in that, in the second mode of operation, the lifting devices 15, 16 associated with the individual running gears 3, 4 or wheel are actuated in such a way that the machine frame 1 is substantially levelled transversely to the working direction A of the construction machine, the ground clearance b preferably being at a maximum or the distance not falling below a minimum distance.

One method includes automatically operating at least one actuator to position a platform supporting a cutterhead at a predetermined starting position and automatically operating the at least one actuator to advance the platform toward a cutting face until the cutterhead contacts the cutting face and at least one indicator of a physical force between the cutterhead and the cutting face exceeds a predetermined value. The method also includes automatically saving at least one coordinate of the cutting face to a computer-readable medium, the at least one coordinate based on a parameter of the at least one actuator when the indicator exceeds the predetermined value.

摘要: The invention provides, in one embodiment, a detector for a miner comprising a gamma sensing element and a light sensing element coupled to the gamma sensing element. According to the embodiment, the detector is mounted on a rotary cutter of a boring-type continuous miner such that the gamma sensing element has a view of a geologic formation being mined. A mining control system is also provided, comprising a miner having at least two rotary cutters and a gamma detector on each of the at least two rotary cutters for receiving gamma emissions from a geologic formation. The mining control system also provides an accelerometer and a rate gyro, wherein the accelerometer and the rate gyro correlate the received gamma emissions with positions of the at least two rotary cutters, and a central module that utilizes the correlated readings to determine whether the cutters should be moved.

摘要: A vehicle carries an extensible boom rotatable about a horizontal and vertical axes. The end of the boom arm carries a universally articulated rock breaking tool mounting means. The vehicle has two ground engaging sole plates carrying hydraulic rams for raising the remainder of the vehicle from the floor to enable the vehicle to be advanced by a pair of advancing rams which are independently operable to enable the vehicle to be steered. The raising rams act on pivotal links which have rollers at their free ends to bear on an underneath surface of the chassis. The sole plates are in open-bottomed channel-like parts of H-section beams whose upper parts are sealed and act as sumps for hydraulic fluid and as radiators to dissipate heat. Control of the boom is from either side of the vehicle by means of a changeover valve. Control of advancing and reversing movement of the vehicle is from the front or rear of the vehicle.
