摘要: A rotary-piston internal-combustion engine comprises a rotating block with three radially situated cylinders with pistons and an outside placed stationary case with two intake ports and two exhaust ports. Between the rotating block and the stationary case there are sealing parts and connecting rods, connected to one crank pin of a crankshaft. Between the crankshaft and the rotating block there is gearing for three times higher revolutions of the crankshaft in the opposite direction with respect to the rotating block. In the stationary case there are at least two spark plugs placed on the opposite sides. The bore of cylinders is 2 to 3.5 times higher than the stroke of pistons and all sealing parts with pressure springs that seal spaces of cylinders to the outer stationary case are placed in cavities in the stationary case.

摘要: The invention presents an internal combustion engine with rotating cylinder block able to use liquid and gas fuel. The design allows substantial reduction of weight and vibration in comparison with engines presently in use and will be preferred for use in weight sensitive vehicles. Ability to make part of the cylinders inactive improves fuel efficiency at partial loads.While the engine operation is similar to typical internal combustion engine, the configuration of cylinders and inlet-outlet valves is different. The engine consists of a cylinder block with radially positioned cylinders open to the outside, pistons moving inside cylinders and valve units (or piston units) positioned outside the perimeter the cylinder block and synchronized to open and close inlet-outlet openings located in pistons.

The power transfer assembly includes a crankshaft (2006) adapted to convert reciprocating motion to rotating motion. The power transfer assembly further includes an outdrive (2004, 2020, and/or 2026) adapted to transfer the rotating motion of the crankshaft to an external device requiring power. The outdrive is non-rigidly interfaced with the outdrive such that the crankshaft is permitted to freely rotate relative to the outdrive about at least one axis (2014) and freely move linearly in at least one direction (2027) relative to the outdrive during operation.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a piston dividing a cylinder into first and second variable volume chambers on either side thereof. One chamber admits and compresses air which is delivered to another chamber for combustion. The other chamber admits combustion gasses, causing the piston to translate in the cylinder. In one embodiment, combustion of fuel occurs in a combustion chamber separate from the first and second variable volume chambers. In one embodiment, the translation of the piston effects movement of a connecting rod connected to an output shaft. In another embodiment, the piston is mounted on an output shaft and translation of the piston causes the piston to rotate, thus effecting rotation of the output shaft.

摘要: An engine has a block, an output shaft mounted to rotate within the block, a profiled cam attached to or formed integrally with the output shaft, a number of bores in the block extending in radial directions away from the output shaft, a respective reciprocating piston within each bore and defining an expansion volume within the bore at one side of the piston, a respective fixed push bar extending from each piston toward the output shaft, and inlet and exhaust ports communicating with the expansion volume. There is a valve at each inlet port, and a combustion manifold within which a pressurised fuel-air mixture ignites before entry via the inlet ports to the respective expansion volumes.
