    摘要: A mechanism for Internal Combustion (IC) engines, wherein such mechanism improves the efficiency and power output of IC engines through dividing the conventional connecting rod between the crank shaft and the piston into two parts; a first part and a second part, and connecting these parts together by a pin joint, wherein the second part slides through an oscillating rocker that is connected to an engine block by another pin joint, thus adding a degree of freedom to the conventional connecting rod. The mechanism may be retrofitted in an existing combustion engine without the need for any significant change in the design of the engine. The mechanism may replace the traditional connecting rod that connects the piston with the crank shaft of the engine and comprises essentially a primary connecting rod, a secondary connecting rod, and an oscillating rocker.

The mechanism is of the type that contains at least one cylinder having a longitudinal axis, at least one piston that has a pivot pin and is slidingly installed in the cylinder, a main driveshaft having a central axis, which is offset at a distance from the longitudinal axis of the cylinder, a circular cylindrical body, e.g., a circular eccentric, which is non-rotationally secured on the main drive shaft and a rocker arm. The rocker arm is pivotally mounted on the circular eccentric. The mechanism is also provided with a connecting rod that connects the cylinder to one arm of the rocker arm/lever. The other arm of the rocker arm/lever has a roller that is guided in a confined pathway and works as a fulcrum of the lever and a stabilizer/rudder at the same time.

    摘要: Ported engines with opposed pistons are coupled to a single crankshaft through rocker arm linkages. Each pair of opposed pistons is coupled to a single crankpin of the crankshaft. Each piston is coupled to a respective rocker arm linkage by a rolling thrust bearing which prevents linkage movement that is transverse to the axis of the piston from being transferred to the piston. Each piston of a pair of opposed pistons is coupled to the same crankpin by respective rocker arm linkages in which connecting rods run between the crankpin and respective rocker arms. One connecting rod is connected to first rocker arm below the rocker arm's pivot point and another connecting rod is connected to a second rocker arm above the rocker arm's pivot point.

This way the combustion is shifted to the slow dead center, enabling the diesel to perform at higher revs, improving the spark engine efficiency and making HCCI combustion easier. Though the crankshaft is of one piece, more connecting rods can be used for a piston. As opposed piston, the PRE engine further combines top specific power, top thermal efficiency, built in scavenging pumps, and compactness.

    摘要: A force transfer mechanism is provided for an internal-combustion engine. In the most preferred configuration, the force transfer mechanism comprises two inter-connected first class levers that are driven by four pistons. Each of the pistons is driven through its non-powered strokes by the action of the piston in its powered stroke on the first class levers. The force transfer mechanism also drives the crankshaft through a single connecting rod. The force transfer mechanism provides for less frictional loss, and greater efficiency, than a typical internal combustion engine.
