摘要: The invention relates to determining rotor speed of a wind turbine. The invention involves receiving angular velocity sensor data indicative of an angular velocity of the wind turbine rotor hub, provided e.g by a gyroscope and receiving acceleration sensor data indicative of an acceleration of the rotor hub in at least one radial direction relative to an axis of rotation of the rotor hub. The invention involves determining first and second estimated rotational speeds of the rotor hub based on the respective angular velocity sensor data and acceleration sensor data. The invention involves determining a correction value based on a difference between the first and second estimated rotational speeds, and applying the correction value to the first estimated rotational speed to determine the true current rotor speed of the wind turbine.

摘要: Described herein are various systems and techniques for deterring wildlife from an area proximate a windmill. A flying wildlife emitter may be utilized for such techniques. The flying wildlife emitter may output soundwaves to deter wildlife, such as birds or bats, from entering an area around the windmill. The flying wildlife emitter may include a speaker for producing sounds as well as a controller and sensors for determining conditions around the windmill and for controlling the sound produced by the speaker. An ultraviolet emitter may, additionally or alternatively, be utilized for such techniques. The ultraviolet emitter may be configured to emit ultraviolet light that may attract wildlife away from such areas proximate to the windmill.

摘要: A multistage wind turbine or network of wind turbines with improved and optimized wind-directing, wind-shaping, and wind-power conversion features is disclosed. The shapes of these features directly affect the ability of the multistage wind turbine to use the power of moving air, to spin a rotor and create torque on a rotor shaft to generate electrical, thermal and/or other forms of energy. The wind-power-conversion mechanical efficiency described significantly improves upon previous designs by conversion of wind energy into electrical power at a superior price-to-performance ratio compared with existing alternative energy technologies.
