摘要： An adjustable ball valve assembly having a vertically tapered chamber and an adjustment mechanism is provided. The adjustable ball valve includes a vertically tapered chamber, a ball disposed within said chamber, a valve stem connected to said ball, seat members, which include a rigid, solid support frame encapsulated in a polymeric material, supporting and sealing the ball and having a vertical taper corresponding to the chamber taper, locking members to prevent horizontal or rotational movement of the seat members and an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the seat members vertically within the chamber. The seat members are encapsulated by means of an injection molding process. The process includes providing an injection mold having, among other features, pins which position the support frame to provide for even application of the polymeric material to the support frame.

摘要： A valve wherein a spherically shaped half ball element is arranged for rotation between open and closed positions with respect to a tubular seat element. Metal-to-metal sealing elements are disposed between the tubular seat and the valve body to develop an axial force in one direction when energized. A wedge element acts on the ball element to energize the metal-to-metal sealing elements and provide a rotation stop for the ball element. The ball element is truncated and attachable to a drive member which allows for shift of the ball element in open and closed positions. Metal-to-metal seals are provided throughout the valve.

摘要： A Top Entry Trunnion Ball Valve is provided having a valve body forming seat recesses with seat members movable disposed therein and urged towards sealing engagement with a spherical valve member by spring members and by differential pressure induced force. A seat retractor mechanism is movably disposed within the valve body and is movable by an externally controlled tool into retracting engagement with the seat members. The seat members and the seat retractor element have cooperative cam surfaces that cause camming movement of the seat members away from the valve member upon linear movement of the seat retractor. A fire safe seal and spring chamber is in communication with a relief passage having volumetric closure plugs permitting introduction of solvent or other softening agent into the spring chambers for removal of any accumulation of foreign material therein.

摘要： A ball valve for use particularly in subsea hydrocarbon production systems including a valve body having a cavity of generally conical shape and communicating with inlet and outlet ports having a common axis. An insert assembly is provided with a valve ball, two ports corresponding to the inlet and outlet ports, respectively, and associated seat means. The insert assembly has a generally conical shape which is generally the same as that of the cavity and being adapted to be housed therein and to be retrieved therefrom. The insert assembly is composed of two parts joined together generally along a dividing plane. Connector means are provided for releasably fixing the insert assembly in the cavity, and actuator means are provided for rotating the valve ball about its axis between a closed and an open position with respect to said ports. The dividing plane between the two parts of the insert assembly is normal to the rotational axis of the valve ball and substantially coincides with the common axis of the inlet and outlet ports.

摘要： A ball valve including a body having two longitudinally aligned fluid passages and a lateral opening communicating with a central space. A rotatable ball, having an opening communicable with the fluid passages, is positioned within the central space. A pair of annular seat rings of wedge shape cross section, fit against and clampingly secure the ball therebetween. A pair of seat ring retainer means, integral with the body, having side walls inclined downwardly and inwardly, wedge the ball and seat rings therebetween. Bonnet means is secured to the body in covering relationship to the seat rings and ball. Piston means extend through the bonnet means for selectively applying pressure to an upper portion of the seat rings to compress the seat rings to the ball and the retainer means side walls. Various means are disclosed for the actuation of the piston means. A rotatable valve stem passes through the lateral opening and the bonnet means, and is connected to the ball to rotate the ball between positions of permitting and preventing the passage of fluid therethrough.
