    摘要: A clamp for use with a top entry type ball valve having a valve casing, a valve body, a seat ring, and a seat ring assembly consisting of another seat ring, a belleville spring and a seat ring holder. The clamp has a pair of clamping plates, a clamping bolt, and a pair of fulcrum bolts. These bolts are screwed through the clamping plates. The lower ends of the clamping plates engage the top of the seat ring and the seat ring holder, respectively. The clamping plates are moved away from each other at the clamping bolt and the distance between them is kept constant at the fulcrum bolts. Thus, the clamping force is applied to the lower ends of the clamping plates.

    摘要: A device for enabling the assembly and disassembly of a top entry ball valve takes the form of a pin formed from rod-like material with a conical end. When the pins are inserted into the top entry of the valve housing the spring loaded valve seats are forced backwardly by the advance of the sloped face of the pins. In a second embodiment, the ends of the pins are teardrop shaped. After the pins are inserted, they are rotated 90.degree. causing the seat to be pushed back by the larger diameter of the pin.

    摘要: A ball valve for controlling fluid flow comprises a housing with a chamber therein and a fluid flow passage therethrough having an inlet and outlet portion to and from the chamber adjacent the lower end of the housing. An opening in the upper end of the housing communicates with the chamber and is sealed by a bonnet which is removably fastened to the housing and has a passage therethrough. A ball member is rotatably seated in the chamber and has a spheroidal lower portion with an anticlinal shaped fluid flow passage therethrough which intersects its axis of rotation. Valve seats are removably seated in the chamber about the inlet and outlet portions of the flow passage and have concave surfaces which seat the ball member and seal about the flow passage therethrough. The opening in the housing is cooperatively dimensioned with respect to the ball member and the valve seats to permit their removal therethrough. The upper portion of the ball member is operatively connected through the passage in the bonnet to an element for rotating the ball member about its axis of rotation between the open and closed positions.

    摘要: A ball valve is provided in which an outer housing (1) can be left in a pipeline during servicing and a sub-assembly can be removed as a unit from the top of the outer housing (1). The sub-assembly comprises an inner housing (8) in which a ball member 17 is journalled for rotation, and annular seal adaptors (13) for interposition between the ball member (17) and diametrically opposite openings (3) in the outer housing (1). The seal adaptors (13) are such that they can be easily withdrawn outwardly from the withdrawn sub-assembly to reveal the ball member 17 and the seal adaptors for inspection without having to remove the ball (17) itself. The seal adaptors (13) are also wedged-shaped so that when the sub-assembly is refitted in the outer housing (1), the seal adaptors (13) automatically come into sealing engagement with the ball member (17) and the outer housing (1).

    摘要: A top-entry ball valve 10 comprising a valve body 12 having a chamber 13, flow passages 14, 15, a ball 20 rotatably mounted in the chamber for movement between open and closed positions relative to the passages, and a pair of seat assemblies 50 at opposed sides of the ball which may be loaded into engagement with the ball or disengaged therefrom. Each seat assembly 50 comprises a seat ring 51 having a rear portion 51a, a larger diameter portion 51b which forms a shoulder 51c, and a face seal 59. Three pins 65 in the seat ring 51 in equiangular spaced relation project from the shoulder 51c. A spacer ring 53 sleeved about the rear 51a of the seat ring 51 is provided with recesses 68 adapted to receive the pins 65. The spacer 53 is mounted for movement between a first position where it is engaged by the tips of pins 65 and a second position wherein the pins 65 are in the recesses 68. A spring assembly 66 between the spacer 53 and a shoulder 42 of seat pocket 35 continuously urges the spacer to its first or second positions. The bar may be used to pry the spacer from shoulder 51c and the seat assembly towards the ball 20. A pin 71 on the spacer 53, when the valve cover 28 is removed, may be engaged by a pry bar to move and rotate the spacer to its first or second positions. The bar may be used to pry the spacer from shoulder 51c and re-orient the spacer so the seat ring is loaded against the ball 20. Placing the spacer 53 in its second position, retracts the seat from ball 20 and adapts the valve for in-line removal of ball and seats.
