Abstract:
A seal assembly, comprising: a connector body having an open end configured for receiving a free end of a pipe; an adaptor for securing at the free end of the pipe; the adaptor comprising a first ring, configured to be mounted around the circumference of the free end of a pipe, and a second ring configured to cooperate with the first ring in order to drive the first ring into engagement with an outer surface of the pipe; and a mechanical interlock arrangement configured for driving the adaptor in the direction of the connector body, when the adaptor is secured at the free end of the pipe; and wherein the mechanical interlock arrangement is further configured for preventing or limiting axial movement of the pipe relative to the connector body, when the adaptor is secured to the outer surface of the pipe and when the free end of the pipe is in sealing contact with a metal seal surface of the connector body.
Abstract:
A rain tight connector may include a connector body, a gland nut coupled to the connector body, and a compression ring. A locknut is coupled to the connector body on the end portion thereof opposite to the gland nut. The compression ring includes a central portion and first and second coaxial end portions. The central portion defines an annular stop. A locking unit with a plurality of locking teeth is provided in the present invention to further secure the metal tube. More specifically, the locking unit can be inserted into the compressing ring to strengthen its structure to securely hole the metal tube
Abstract:
A push-to-connect fitting release assistance assembly, device and method allows for simplified manual operation of a push-to-connect fitting through a clip device capable of manual fit around a fitting adapted for such use. In various embodiments, the clip device comprises a base portion and first and second leg portions, where the leg portions are adapted to provide a gradually increasing or decreasing axial pressure to a release pusher member included as part of the fitting assembly. In various embodiments, the main body component of the fitting is adapted with axially inner, intermediate and outer portions that provide a snug mechanical fit with the clip device.
Abstract:
A tubular connection has first and second tubular members having aligned bores with a common axis and having first and second seal surfaces, respectively. A metal seal has a first end portion that sealingly engages the first seal surface and a second end portion that sealingly engages the second seal surface. The metal seal has a sidewall with at least two folds. One of the folds defines an axial interior gap. The other of the folds defines an axial exterior gap. An exterior spacer member is positioned in the exterior gap to limit closer of the exterior gap in response to a greater pressure on the interior of the seal than on the exterior. An interior spacer member is positioned in the interior gap to limit closure of the interior gap in response to a greater pressure on the exterior of the seal than on the interior.
Abstract:
A push fitting joint packaging arrangement allows the re-use and repair of push-to-connect fittings and valves without damage to the fitting or valve elements or the pipe, and without coining, gluing or threaded engagement of parts. In one embodiment of the present invention, the arrangement comprises a split fastening ring and a split O-ring support member.
Abstract:
A tube connection structure includes a joint body and a coupling member. The coupling member has a fastening part threaded with the joint body and a tool-engaging part gripable with a fastening tool. The coupling member and the joint body are-configured such that the tool-engaging part is separated from the fastening part after the coupling member is mounted to the joint body. The joint body and the coupling member have a threading contact part. The components of the threaded contact part are in contact with each other so that the threading of the coupling member over the joint body is limited before the tool-engaging part is separated from the fastening part.
Abstract:
A fitting assembly is provided with a first fitting component having a stepped wall surface; and a second fitting component radially spaced from the first fitting component when the fitting assembly is in a finger tight condition prior to pull-up. When the second fitting component is displaced into contact with the stepped wall surface during fitting pull-up, the stepped wall surface assists in separating the first fitting component from the second fitting component upon fitting disassembly.

Abstract:
A conduit fitting of the type having first and second threaded fitting components and at least one conduit gripping device, further includes a stroke limiting member that allows the fitting to be pulled up by applying a predetermined torque. In one embodiment, the stroke limiting member may be a non-integral torque collar. Alternatively, the fitting may also be pulled up by turns or may have an integral torque collar. In still another embodiment, a stroke limiting member is provided that may be used to enable a fitting that is designed to be pulled up by turns to also be pulled up by torque. In other embodiments, the non-integral torque collar may be installed onto one of the fitting components, and then deformed so as to prevent or make it more difficult to remove the torque collar after installation onto the fitting component.
Abstract:
A pipe fitting assembly package and fastening ring removal tool allow re-use and repair of push-fit piping fittings and valves without damage to the fitting or valve elements or the pipe. The quick connection pipe fitting assembly package of the present invention employs a threaded retaining cap that when removed, exposes the clamping, sealing and fastening mechanism of the fitting or valve. In one embodiment, the present invention further includes a removable packing gland mounted on a body about an axis of an orifice. The fastening ring removal device provided as part of the present invention is manually pushed onto the cylindrical object and is capable of expanding to traverse over the installed fastening ring. The fastening ring removal device includes a parallel angular surface to lift the fastening ring off of the pipe member. In one embodiment of the present invention, the removal device has a plurality of cut areas or slits extending axially along its surface to allow for the expansion of the upper rim portion of the fastener removal tool as it slides over a remaining fastening ring. The present invention facilitates re-use of existing fittings and valves by allowing the internal components to be removed, repaired and/or replaced.
