In one embodiment, a method of supporting a monitor includes converting an ascending energy storage member force curve into a substantially constant supporting force against the monitor. In one aspect, a method, of supporting a monitor includes providing an energy storage member and a cam which are cooperatively positioned so as to move relative to each other along the path of motion. As the energy storage member moves along the path relative to the cam, the cam displaces the energy storage member and thereby changes a force applied by the energy storage member on the cam, and wherein the cam converts the force applied by the energy storage member into a supporting force on the monitor.

    摘要: Equipment for use with hand-held motion picture and video cameras comprises a pair of interconnected spring loaded arms, one end of which is pivotally supported by a carrying brace worn by a cameraman and the other end of which is connected to a handle positioned to mount the camera equipment at approximately the center of the moment of inertia. The camera and its associated equipment are mounted in exploded, balanced relation about the handle. The weight of the camera equipment is substantially counterbalanced by the action of the spring loaded arms without employing counterweights. A camera viewed is provided with an extended, flexible cord to facilitate viewing from a position remote from the camera itself and not necessarily governed by the camera orientation.

    摘要: A rotatable camera mount for mounting on a vehicle is described. The mount includes a generally vertically aligned shaft that is coupled to a vehicle via a coupling assembly. A body is rotatably disposed on the shaft and provides a camera-mounting flange along one side and tail and swing-weight assemblies extending from an opposite side. The tail assembly provides a wing that extends into an airflow passing the mount to direct the camera with respect to the airflow. The swing-weight assembly counteracts forces on a camera coupled to the mounting flange when the vehicle encounters a turn to direct the camera into the turn. Rotation of the body about the shaft can be dampened by fluid dampening, brake assemblies, friction dampening, and hard stops. The shaft can be oriented at angle with respect to vertical to bias directing of the camera in a desired direction.
