摘要： A device has a canister for attaching to a fuel container with a wick holder passing through the canister for holding a wick in a position to draw fuel from the reservoir for combustion proximate the top cap. A snuffer in the canister has a sleeve extendible from a first retracted position to a second extended position, the second extended position extending the sleeve partially beyond the wick holder. When the canister is upright the snuffer remains in the first lowered position and when the canister is tilted beyond a predetermined angle the spring moves the sleeve to the second extended position.

摘要： A self-extinguishing candle flame apparatus is provided, the apparatus comprises: a base; a post having opposing ends, at least a portion of the first end of the post is attached to the base; a pliable wax coil having opposing ends, at least a portion of the wax coil being situated upon the base, the wax coil forming a candle, the candle comprising an elongated wick being situated within the wax coil, at least a portion of the wick protruding from one end of the wax coil; and a self extinguishing device comprising at least two sections that form a clamp, at least a portion of each of the two sections being attached to a spring, each of the sections having opposing ends, the first end of each of the two sections comprises a head and the second end of each of the two sections comprises an arm, the first and second sections being connected at a joint, during a closed position, each of the heads contact one another and forms an extended rim with side walls and an aperture therebetween designed to receive a portion of the wax coil, the extended rim with the side walls forming a height that when the candle burns down within the aperture, the flame is extinguished by operation of oxygen deprivation.

摘要： A flame-retardant wick holder for a candle is made of a material having a UL-94 vertical burn test rating of at least V-0, including polymers and ceramics. The wick holder supports a wick at the bottom of a candle. The wick holder material causes the flame on the wick to extinguish when it reaches the holder, thereby preventing flashover of the residual candle fuel at the end of the candle useful life. One version of the holder has a cylindrical sleeve fit over a wick clip holding the lower end of the wick. The cylindrical holder is well adapted for use in pillar-type candles.

摘要： A safety device for preventing uncontrolled burning in wick-fed liquid fuel burners employs a solenoid (76) and a thermocouple (18) in combination with a microswitch (80). When excess fuel enters the fuel chamber (40), a float (30) is urged upward, which forces a pin (28) upward, causing a microswitch (80) to open, thereby interrupting the electrical communication between the solenoid and thermocouple. As a result, a spring (24) can act to force an arm (14) upward, actuating the automatic wick extinguishing unit (42). Also, the mechanism prevents re-ignition of the wick (54) until the excess fuel is removed from the fuel chamber. When the fuel in the fuel chamber exceeds a predetermined level, a warning gauge needle (84) is deflected, alerting the user of the liquid fuel burner to a dangerous condition.

摘要： A burner of wick type is disclosed which secures user safety by stopping combustion through an oxygen depletion protection function in the event of an oxygen depletion. When tar is accumulated in the wick, the wick is burnt to clean the tar with the liquid fuel supply cut off, thus burning out the liquid fuel contained in the wick. In the process, the combustion temporarily becomes unstable and a great amount of carbon monoxide is generated, resulting in a state similar to oxygen depletion. In a burner with an oxygen depletion protection function, the combustion is stopped during the wick cleaning, with the result that most of the tar accumulated in the wick remains unburnt, adversely affecting both the fuel absorption characteristic and service life of the wick. This invention is such that the oxygen depletion protection function is not operated during the wick cleaning. The tar accumulated in the wick is mostly burnt out and thus the deterioration of the fuel absorption characteristic is prevented thereby improving the service life of the wick.
