The outer shell may be changeable/replaceable allowing for style and or seasonal changes. A Smart Candle Platform having multiple interactive systems and sensors for production of natural light via a safe, controllable device which may communicate with other similar configured devices or smart devices having application software embedded therein i.e. a smart phone having an app. is disclosed. The Smart Candle Platform may be configured to allow for auto-extinguishment. The Smart Candle Platform may be configured to allow for the addition of smells or scents.

    摘要: A turbine engine ignition system comprising a spark plug having excitation and return terminals, and a spark plug exciter connected to the excitation terminal. The return terminal is connected to an equipotential reference-forming structure, the exciter device is connected to a command line for a signal to supply an excitation signal to the spark plug. The ignition system comprises a control device comprising current and voltage sensors, a first voltage comparator, a second current comparator, and a microcontroller receiving output from the two comparators. The first comparator compares the voltage sensor signal to a first reference value and the second comparator compares the current sensor signal to a second reference value. The microcontroller generates a signal indicating a malfunction of the ignition system if the current sensor signal is lower than the second reference value while the voltage sensor signal is higher than the first reference value.

    摘要: A system for detecting spark in an igniter for a gas turbine engine. An igniter generates a plasma, or spark, somewhat similar to an automotive spark plug. In the invention, an inductive pick-up is positioned adjacent the igniter, to detect current pulses in the igniter, to thereby infer the presence of spark. The Inventors have found that this approach is effective, despite the fact that the inductor is surrounded by grounded shielding intended to suppress rf interference, and to protect personnel from high voltages present. The shielding is intended to block the very signals which the invention detects.

    摘要: An example Smart Candle Platform is configured to includes a candle fixture that comprises an outer shell having an opening, a mid-frame, and a base, and a fuel bottle configured to hold a fuel material and is removably coupled to the candle fixture. The fuel bottle is positioned at least partially within a hollow interior of the mid-frame of the candle fixture and accommodated by the base. The fuel bottle further comprises a wick that extends through an opening of the outer shell, and the candle fixture includes an ignitor configured to ignite the fuel material via the wick to produce a living flame, a proximity sensor to sense a distance between an object and the living flame, a self-extinguisher, and a control system configured to, upon determining the distance between the object and the living flame is unsafe, control the self-extinguisher to extinguish the living flame.

    摘要: Exemplary embodiments are provided of igniter failure detection assemblies for furnaces. In an exemplary embodiment, an igniter failure detection assembly includes a hot surface igniter, an igniter relay coupled to the hot surface igniter, a resistor coupled in parallel with the hot surface igniter and defining a node between the igniter relay, the resistor and hot surface igniter, and a controller configured to detect a voltage at the node and determine whether a fault condition of the hot surface igniter exists based on the detected voltage at the node. A detected node voltage corresponding to a normal operation resistance value of the hot surface igniter is indicative of a normal operating hot surface igniter, and a detected node voltage corresponding to a resistance value of the resistor is indicative of a fault condition of the hot surface igniter. Example methods of detecting an igniter fault condition are also disclosed.

    摘要: A portable hand held diagnostic tool which non-invasively detects an electric field when placed adjacent a component of a spark plug firing portion of an ignition system and provides a positive indication of the detected electric field. A printed circuit board containing a control circuit, a replaceable battery supply, an ON/OFF switch, an indicator such as an LED, and a pickup antenna, is slidably mounted within the hollow interior of a dielectric tubular case. The antenna is located adjacent a pickup end of the case and detects the electric field generated by an ignition system during firing of a spark plug which actuates the LED in response to the detected firing. The dielectric case is free of external metal parts adjacent the pickup end to help minimize arcing. A battery test circuit may be incorporated into the control circuitry to ensure an adequate power supply for operation of the control circuitry. A fixed or variable resistor enables the sensitivity of the firing pickup to be selected.
