    摘要: An apparatus for thermo-transformation of wood planks comprises a chamber delimited by upright perforated walls, a top wall and end walls and having a closable entry for receiving wood planks into the chamber. A shell surrounds the chamber and is spaced therefrom to define a first vertical plenum with the first perforated wall, a second vertical plenum with the second perforated wall, and a horizontal plenum with the top wall. A ventilation system is in fluid communication with the plenums to produce a flow of heated air in the plenums. Vanes are actuatable to close/open access to the vertical plenums, to allow heated air into at least one of the vertical plenums, through the chamber via the perforated walls, and out from at least the other of the vertical plenums, to return to the ventilation system. A method for the thermo-transformation of wood is also provided.

    摘要: The method for filtering an air flow in a grain dryer to permit recycling of the air includes entering an external air flow into the grain dryer; pouring a grain flow by gravity into the grain dryer; passing the external air flow through the grain flow in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of the grain flow; filtering the air flow after passing through the grain flow so as to retain particles present in the air flow; heating the filtered flow and directing the filtered flow upstream of the grain flow, such that the filtered flow passes again through the grain flow; and blowing the particles proceeding from the filtering. The invention also relates to a device for implementing this method.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for reducing the VOC and CO content of dryer offgas that is discharged into the atmosphere from a moist organic product drying process using thermal oxidizing apparatus that includes a furnace, mixing chamber, thermal oxidizer, tempering chamber, and an indirect gas-to-gas heat exchanger. The dryer offgas is separated into two portions, with a larger portion being preheated by indirect heat exchange with the hot gaseous output from the thermal oxidizer. The non-preheated portion is directed to a rotary waste heat evaporator in which moisture is removed therefrom. The preheated portion is recycled to the hot gas inlet of the dryer and serves the function of dryer heat transfer media. By removing moisture from the non-preheated portion of the offgas that is directed to the thermal oxidizing apparatus, simultaneous achievement of thermal oxidizer temperatures of 1600° F. or greater, and an adequate oxygen concentration of 5% by volume is achieved for optimized thermal oxidation of carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds.
