    摘要: The invention relates generally to plumbing control joints in masonry walls, and apparatus for plumbing a control joint in a brick wall surface. A mounting bracket supports a bracket rod and cylindrical collar which may slide axially along and pivot about the bracket rod. The plumb rod is slidably received in an adjustable holding member. The plumb rod is then secured relative to the holding member. A spirit level is fixed within a circular bore of the holding member, which can be adjusted to the user's desired position. To ensure the plumb rod is perpendicular to level ground, the holding member is pivoted until the spirit level indicates the desired result and the position is secured. A plumb control joint is guaranteed by successively laying the brick layers against the plumb rod in a manner which is typically known in the art.

    摘要: The invention relates generally to plumbing control joints in masonry walls, and more particularly to a method and apparatus for plumbing a control joint in a brick wall surface. The invention includes a plumb rod which is positioned in a vertical control joint as bricks are being laid against a wall surface. A mounting bracket supports a bracket rod and cylindrical collar which may slide axially along and pivot about the bracket rod. The plumb rod is slidably received in an adjustable holding member. The plumb rod is then secured relative to the holding member. A spirit level is fixed within a circular bore of the holding member, which can be adjusted to the user's desired position.The plumbing apparatus is used to ensure that a control joint is vertical or plumb to level ground. The mounting bracket is attached to the wall surface, and the collar adjusted to position the plumb rod. The plumb rod is secured when the desired vertical position of is attained. To ensure the plumb rod is perpendicular to level ground, the holding member is pivoted until the spirit level indicates the desired result and the position is secured. A plumb control joint is guaranteed by successively laying the brick layers against the plumb rod in a manner which is typically known in the art.

The device has a handle having a gauge mounted adjacent an end of the arm opposite the handle and an intermediate contact point such that the inner surface of the handle and the intermediate contact point define the planes of the surfaces of the workpiece to be measured. The device is easily used, easily transported, and capable of use with work-pieces having chamfered or otherwise altered corners, holes, slots or other imperfections that make determination of squareness difficult.

    摘要: A guide post and/or master cylinder squareness gage has a vee-block for attaching the gage to a guide post or master cylinder. The vee-block includes a gage stop which bears against the plane surface when the gage is attached to the guide post or master cylinder. The vee-block also includes a measurement indicator mounted to the vee-block which indicator has a biased contact which also bears against the plane surface at a position spaced from the stop. The indicator indicates the deviation in the perpendicularly of the guide post as the gage is rotated around the guide post. The flatness of the plane surface can be measured by rotating the gage attached to the master cylinder on the plane surface. The perpendicularity of the master cylinder can be measured by rotating the master cylinder with the gage held in one position.

    摘要: The invention disclosed is a screw thread gage for internal and external threads which is simple in construction in lacking a scale or the like and hence is relatively inexpensive to manufacture. Both internal and external thread gages use a pair of gaging members with the internal gage having members which are spaced apart far enough so that they will contract sufficiently for axial insertion into the threaded hole. The gaging members are pressed resiliently outwardly for an internal gage and inwardly for an external gage. A stop means is set at one of the limiting tolerance dimensions and limits the outward expansion or inward contraction of the gaging members to that dimension. The accuracy of the thread is determined by three degrees of frictional drag or feel between the gage and the test part when one is turned on the other. The gage may include lock means to lock a gaging member against its stop means and/or squareness of face testing means.
