Abstract: A prime mover includes a stator fixed to a housing, and a rotor rotatable relative to the stator. The prime mover outputs torque from the rotor by being supplied with electric power. A speed reducer reduces the torque of the prime mover and outputs the reduced torque. The speed reducer includes a sun gear to which the torque from the rotor is input, and a planetary gear that revolves in a circumferential direction of the sun gear while rotating in a state of meshing with the sun gear. The rotor and the sun gear are formed separately, and are disposed coaxially so as to be integrally rotatable.

Abstract: Provided in this disclosure is a digger/derrick system (or generally any type of machine) having a diesel engine to power a hydraulic system for raising and lowering the digger/derrick and powering other components. The system includes a centrifugal clutch that engages the diesel engine while the engine is running, thereby powering an electrical generator that drives the hydraulic pump while also charging an on-board battery bank system. When the engine is turned off, the centrifugal clutch is decoupled. The battery banks then power the generator, which in turn drives the hydraulic pump. In this manner, the digger/derrick offers the advantages of noise reduction as the hydraulic systems can be operated without running a noisy diesel engine. This noise reduction after enhances safety since operators elevated in the derrick and operators on the ground can more readily communicate to give clear warnings to avoid danger and other undesirable circumstances.

Abstract: A transmission assembly for a work vehicle having an engine includes a variator operably connected to the engine, a gear arrangement configured to provide a selective gear reduction for transmission of output power from the variator to an output shaft, and an electrical machine unit. The electrical machine unit further includes a main shaft operably connected to the variator, a first rotor configured to rotatably drive a first shaft, a second rotor configured to rotatably drive a second shaft, and a clutch configured to selectively couple the first shaft or the second shaft, or both the first shaft and the second shaft, to the main shaft. The clutch, the first rotor, and the second rotor are operable to control a speed and rotational direction of the main shaft in providing rotational power to the variator.
