摘要: An instrument incorporates a stop clock which records the time that elapses between the start of turning of a shaft in a specified direction and the completion of a predetermined number of revolutions in that direction. The clock is started by a ratchet and pawl device so that movement in the reverse direction does not start the clock, and the predetermining counter which may be, for example, a friction member bearing on a screw thread has a starting point which can be locked, as desired to alter the predetermined number of revolutions. The stopping point is always the same so that the predetermining counter in effect counts down from an adjustable start. The instrument is primarily intended for measuring the time for an automobile to cover a fixed distance from a standing start by a simple attachment to a road wheel. The ratchet and pawl feature allows the vehicle to be moved (e.g., for accurate positioning on a starting line) without resetting the timer by using the reverse gear.

摘要: The chronograph mechanism includes a control device and a chronograph gear train designed to be driven directly or indirectly by a barrel, this chronograph gear train including a second-counter mobile and a mobile with a first precision corresponding to a first fraction of a second. The chronograph mechanism also includes at least one indicator which displays the seconds and first fractions of a second of the duration measured. The chronograph gear train includes an additional mobile (5) with a second precision corresponding to a second fraction of a second, which is driven by the mobile (3) for the first fraction of a second by a mobile (4) compensating the backlash; and the chronograph mechanism also includes an indicator for the second fractions of a second, which are smaller than the first fractions of a second, of the duration measured, which indicator is actuated by the additional train.

摘要: 729,902. Watches. FABRIQUE SOLVIL DES MONTRES P. DITISHEIM SOC. ANON. Dec. 7, 1953 [Sept. 23, 1953], No. 34009/53. Class 139. A chronograph having a seconds hand 1, Fig. 1, and a follower hand 2 is characterized by three push buttons 5, 8, 9 serving respectively for starting and stopping the seconds hand, for returning the hands to zero and for starting arid stopping the follower hand, and an arcuate member 12 revolubly carried' co-axially with reference to the casing and movable into three positions for one of which only the first push button 5 is free for actuation and the other two push buttons 8, 9 are covered by the arcuate member while the second position allows exclusively the two first push buttons 5, 8 to be actuated and the third position allows only the third push button 9 to be actuated. The push button 5, Figs. 1 and 2, which is also the winding knob passes through a slot 13 in the arcuate member 12 which is rotatably located in a groove 11 in the bottom 10 of the case. A collar 7 on the stem 4 of the button 5 is located inside the member 12 so that when the edge 13 1 of the slot 13 engages the stem 4 as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2 only the button 9 is free for actuation. The buttons 5 and 8 are both free for actuation when the member 12 is moved to the position determined by the engagement of a pin 14 on the member 12 with a screw 15 on the case.
