    摘要: A variable displacement lubricant pump for providing a pressurized lubricant for an internal combustion engine includes a shiftable control ring, a hydraulic control chamber which directly actuates the control ring, a pump rotor comprising a plurality of slidable vanes which rotate in the control ring, a control chamber wall, a temperature control opening arranged in the control chamber wall, and a temperature control valve which connects or disconnects the temperature control opening to an atmospheric pressure. The temperature control valve comprises a valve plunger which is axially shiftable so as to block or leave open a lubricant passage, and a first bimetal actuator sheet which directly actuates the valve plunger. The first bimetal actuator sheet comprises a first switching temperature. The valve plunger is in an open position if a lubricant temperature exceeds the first switching temperature.

    摘要: A temperature-limiting device (14) is provided for an electric heater (2), the heater (2) being located behind a heatable surface (4) and comprising a dish-like support (6) having therein at least one electric heating element (12) having first and second terminal regions (12A, 12B). The device comprises thermally responsive bimetallic means (22) provided in a housing (16). The housing (16) is supported at a peripheral region of the heater (2), at least partially externally of the support (6). The bimetallic means (22) is thermally coupled with the heater (2) to sense heat generated therein by the heating element (12) and to respond at a predetermined temperature to operate at least one switch means (18) located in the housing (16). The housing (16) has first and second sides (32, 38) opposite each other provided with first and second electrically conductive elements (34, 40) accessible at the sides of the housing (16), externally of the dish-like support (6), for electrical connection to the terminal regions (12A, 12B) of the heating element (12).

The control circuit is designed for use in a forced air system wherein each zone is provided with dampers and motors for controlling the positioning of the dampers in accordance with the heating or cooling demand detected by a thermostat in each of the zones. A plurality of power semiconductor devices (gate-controlled triacs) are employed to connect the windings of the zone control motors, the furnace fan, the furnace gas valve and the cooling compressor across an alternating current supply. Diode-transistor logic circuits are employed to generate the gating or control signal for the triacs in accordance with the settings of the system control switch and the temperature in one or more zones.

    摘要: Control apparatus comprising a triac, serially connected to a load such as a motor, is gated through a diac. The diac conducts and turns on the triac during each half cycle of triac current when a capacitor has reached a predetermined charge through a charging resistor having a negative temperature coefficient of resistance. The NTC charging resistor gradually heats up (additional heat can also be supplied) with concomitant decrease in resistance and charge time of the capacitor so that the pulse of current seen by the motor gradually increases until a steady state condition is reached. A heating-cooling system is shown in which the above control is employed with a plurality of thermostats and a safety bypass circuit.
