Abstract: A method of controlling an engagement state of an agent during a human-machine dialog is provided. The method can include receiving a spoken request that is a conditional locking request, wherein the conditional locking request uses a natural language expression to explicitly specify a locking condition, which is a predicate, storing the predicate in a format that can be evaluated when needed by the agent, entering a conditionally locked state in response to the conditional locking request, in the conditionally locked state, receiving a multiplicity of requests without a need for a wakeup indicator, and for a request from the multiplicity of requests evaluating the predicate upon receiving the request, and processing the request if the predicate is true.

Abstract: A vehicle entry system which identifies authorized users via facial recognition has an image sensor configured to capture real-time images according to a predetermined field of view from a vehicle. A lockout device is configured to selectably provide access to the vehicle. The entry system has a controller configured to (A) analyze a first one of the captured images for matching to a stored facial pattern corresponding to an authorized user of the vehicle, (B) detect a request for a secondary authentication after the captured image being analyzed fails to match the stored facial pattern, (C) analyze a second one of the captured images for a nonbiometric secondary code entrusted to a secondary user; and (D) issue a command for the lockout device to grant the access to the vehicle when the secondary code is detected.

Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for cropping video streams to create an optimized layout in which participants of a meeting are a similar size. A user device receives a plurality of video streams, each video stream including at least one face of a participant participating in a video communication session. Faces in one or more of the plurality of video streams are cropped so that faces in the plurality of video streams are approximately equal in size, to produce a plurality of processed video streams. The plurality of processed video streams are sorted according to video stream widths to produce sorted video streams and the plurality of sorted video streams are distributed for display across a smallest number of rows possible on a display of the user device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus with spoofing consideration is provided. The method includes implementing convolution block(s) of a machine learning model that determines whether biometric information in an input image is spoofed, including generating a feature map including channels for an input feature map for the input image using convolution layers of a convolution block of the convolution block(s), in response to a total number of input channels of the convolution block and a total number of output channels of the convolution block being different, matching the total number of input channels of the convolution block and the total number of output channels of the convolution block by adding a zero-padding channel to the input feature map using a skip connection structure, and generating output data for determining whether the biometric information is spoofed, dependent on the generated feature map and a result of the skip connection structure.

Abstract: A model of a human subject's head may be generated to assist in a therapeutic and/or diagnostic procedure. A treatment and/or diagnostic system may generate a fitted head model using a predetermined head model and a plurality of points. The plurality of points may include facial feature information and may be determined using a sensor, for example, an IR or optical sensor. One or more anatomical landmarks may be determined and registered in association with the fitted head model using the facial feature information, for example, without the use of additional image information, such as an MRI image. The fitted head model may include visual aids, for example, anatomical landmarks, reference points, marking of the human subject's MT location, and/or marking of the human subject's treatment location. The visual aids may assist a technician to perform the therapeutic and/or diagnostic procedure of the human subject.

Abstract: A method and system for maintaining privacy in private postal mail, such as privileged or other legal postal mail or medical mail, at a correctional facility comprising a privacy verification system to verify a privacy status of a sender and generate privacy status identifiers to be used on the legal postal mail. The privacy status identifiers when scanned or observed at a mail processing facility that processes incoming mail sent to inmates who are incarcerated in a correctional facility provides an indication to the mail processing facility that the mail is private so that appropriate measures can be taken to maintain privacy status.
