    摘要： A dedicated self-service return terminal is provided for receiving returned media on which entertainment data is stored. The dedicated self-service return terminal comprises a media transporter having a media return slot through which returned media can be received from a customer returning the media, a removable media storage bin for storing returned media which has been received through the slot, a container having a chamber in which the media storage bin is installed when the media storage bin is in use, a sliding mechanism arranged to support the container for vertical sliding movement between a top position in which the media storage bin can receive returned media received through the slot and a bottom position in which the media storage bin can be removed from the container, and a controller arranged to control the sliding mechanism to effect movement of the container between the top and bottom positions during operation of the dedicated self-service return terminal.

    摘要： A system for controlling circulation of media materials from a library includes a control system and a circulation control station having a housing defining a receptacle which is configured to receive a packaged unit of securable media therein. The circulation control station includes an electronic security control mechanism and a mechanical security control mechanism, each mounted to the housing. The electronic security control mechanism may include an RFID reader/writer, and the mechanical security control mechanism may include a magnet and an actuator. The control system is configured to release a packaged unit of securable media to circulation by disabling an electronic security device and a magnetic security device of a packaged unit of securable media resident within the receptacle and executing a media checkout procedure.

A vertical base reference position of a selector arm is stored, wherein the vertical base reference position corresponds to one of a plurality of rows in a cylindrical storage device. A horizontal base reference position is stored, wherein the horizontal base reference position corresponds to a compartment identifier identifying a compartment within each of the plurality of rows. A position of the selector arm corresponding to a media storage compartment is also stored, wherein the position comprises a vertical position and a horizontal position. A motor is initiated to move the selector arm along a vertical axis, wherein a movement of the selector arm results in one of an increment and/or a decrement to the vertical position of the selector arm. A stepper motor is initiated to rotate the cylindrical storage device, wherein a rotation of the device results in one of an increment and/or a decrement to the horizontal position of the selector arm.

An identification sensor identifies the accepted object and, in the case of a redeemable object, acquires an appropriate amount of redemption or, in the case of a lending system, registers the acceptance of the object. Two blocking members are operationally connected to each other to form a lock for the object, one of the blocking members always being closed.

    摘要： An automatic machine for leasing or selling of flat articles to be chosen, such as DVDs in cassettes and the like, includes a support (8) with a shelf element (9), wherein the articles to be chosen may be stored, preferably partly in a vertical y-direction and partly in a horizontal x-direction. Conveyor (10) conveys articles to be chosen in the x and y directions, and in a direction perpendicular to the x-y plane, or z-direction. A display displays symbols for the article to be chosen, such that a relatively large assortment may be shown, whereas the display is equipped with a mechanism for selecting of articles to be chosen. A card reader is provided for paying of fees for leasing or buying of articles. The casing has an opening for delivering or feeding of articles to be chosen, in the z-direction. A second conveying element (17) is provided with a transmitter/receiver unit for identifying of articles to be chosen, by transmittance and receiving of an electromagnetic wave to and from a transponder at the article, such that returned articles can be automatically placed back in the correct location.
