摘要: A luminescent planar sheet is constructed to provide illuminated alphanumeric characters particularly suitable for mounting upon the planar surfaces of a vehicle. Preferably the luminescent planar sheet can produce visible light, infrared light, or both. A switching system is connected to the luminescent planar panels for selectively controlling power to produce visible light and/or infrared light. The luminescent planar sheet includes a protective coating which permits the passage of both visible light and infrared light, but substantially blocks most or all ultraviolet light.

摘要: The described embodiments relate to methods and systems for developing an electroluminescent sign. In particular, described embodiments relate to methods and systems that process an image file to generate data for use in developing the electroluminescent sign. Further embodiments relate to an electroluminescent sign developed and/or produced in accordance with the described methods and/or systems. Certain embodiments relate to a method of developing an electroluminescent sign based on an image file. The method comprises processing the image file to generate image data representing at least one illuminating image layer and electrical configuration data, transferring the at least one illuminating image layer onto a substrate and configuring a luminescence controller of the electroluminescent sign based on the electrical configuration data. The configured luminescence controller cooperates with the substrate to provide a luminescent image based on the image file.

摘要: A display device 1 includes light emitting sections 36, 37 of different luminous colors disposed between anode and cathode electrodes, current control units 34, 35 for controlling currents supplied to the light emitting sections 36, 37 to desired current levels, respectively, and an emergency power supply for supplying a current to the current control units 34, 35 in an emergency in which a commercial power source does not perform a desired function. When operated by the emergency power supply, the current control units turn on and off the light emitting sections 36, 37 of different luminous colors such that they are turned on during different periods of time. When the emergency power supply is used, the display device 1 controls turning on of the planar light emitting element using an organic EL light emitting element depending on luminous colors thereof, thereby suppressing the power consumption of the emergency power supply.

摘要: An electroluminescent lighting system includes an electroluminescent encapsulated and protected inside a solid wall mounting channel. The mounting channel is typically plastic. The mounting channel may itself be printed on its outside display surface, or it may protect a printed surface inside its channel. The mounting channel is sealed on one end by a sealing cap and on its opposite end by an electrical connector that powers the EL lamp inside the channel. This sealed system offers a durable shield for the EL lamp that is mounted inside the channel.

摘要: A vehicle lighting system is provided primarily for use with emergency response vehicles. The lighting system includes luminescent alphanumeric characters affixed upon a planar vehicle mounting plate so as to emit light upwardly so as to be seen from the air. The vehicle lighting system also includes a light bar affixed to the planar plate. The light bar is positioned to illuminate light primarily horizontally so as to be seen by those on the ground. Preferably, the luminescent planar sheets are connected by wiring to the light bar so that luminescent planar sheet obtains power from the light bar. In addition, the light bar includes a light sensor electrically connected between the power source and luminescent planar sheets which automatically disables the luminescent panels when ambient light is above a predetermined threshold.

摘要: A vehicle lighting system is provided primarily for use with emergency response vehicles. The lighting system includes a planar plate mounted to one of the horizontal surfaces of a vehicle. A luminescent planar sheet is constructed to provide illuminated alphanumeric characters affixed upon the planar plate so as to be seen from the air. Preferably the luminescent planar sheet can selectively produce visible light, or light invisible to the human eye. Where the planar luminescent panel produces heat to create non-visible infrared indicia, it is preferred that the planar luminescent sheet include an insulator layer positioned under the infrared producing layer so as to prevent heat from dissipating into the vehicle's metal surface.

摘要: A portable display system having a portable housing including a base for supporting the housing on a flat surface and including an electroluminescent display panel which is flexible and provided in a first extended orientation wherein the display panel is visible to a bystander and a second rolled orientation with the display panel returned into a housing interior. An elongated frame supports the display panel in the first extended orientation, with the frame including a first end which engages the housing and a second end that engages the display panel. A return mechanism, such as a spring return, is provided within the housing for retracting the display panel from the first extended orientation into the second retracted orientation.

The vehicle's corrugated roof forms a plurality of troughs and ridges which extend longitudinally from the vehicle's front to the vehicle's rear. The roof plate engages and is affixed to the vehicle roof with the roof plate teeth extending into the vehicle roof troughs. Indicia, antenna, or light bars may be mounted to the roof plate's top surface.

When the application is to retrofit a fixture with fluorescent tubes, the assembly is provided with adapters that attach to the fluorescent tube receptacles.
