    摘要: An electronic musical instrument comprising a tone generator, an accumulator and a digital filter. The tone generator generates musical tone signals each represented by sampled values, corresponding to depressed keys. The accumulator accumulates the sampled values of the musical tone signals at predetermined timings. The digital filter modifies an output of the accumulator in accordance with the amplitude-frequency characteristic of a predetermined formant characteristic. A musical tone is produced based on an output of the digital filter circuit, thereby the formant characteristic is imparted to the musical tone.This utilization of the digital filter for the musical instrument makes it possible to impart a formant characteristic to a musical tone without a complex circuit construction. Moreover the insertion of the accumulator following the tone generator makes it possible to use the digital filter of a low speed type.

    摘要: When analog signals of two or more channels are converted to digital signals, a differential signal of at least two of these channels (A and B) is taken out. The signal of either channel A or B or the sum signal of these signals and the above-mentioned differential signal are quantized by binary-coding with n and m bits (n>m), respectively. The quantization is also performed by sampling with the sampling frequency f1 and f2 (f1>f2). As a result the memory capacity is saved and the transmission speed is improved.

An input message code selector converts a message code signal into the count of a ring counter by taking, as its inputs, a count output emitted from the ring counter, with the total number of these compressed message data corresponding to its maximum count number, a message code signal for specifying a message to be emitted and an input message code selector signal for setting a randomizing condition for randomly altering the message code signal. The system controller reads out the compressed message data corresponding to the random message code from the compressed message data memory, which is then converted into a specific synthesized message.

    摘要: A basic tone signal generator and a difference signal generator are provided. A desired tone signal is obtained by synthesizing a basic tone signal and a difference signal generated from these generators respectively. The basic tone signal has principal characteristics of a desired tone signal whose tone color (waveshape) changes subtly with time as in a tone of an acoustic musical instrument, but it is not the desired tone signal itself, including some errors, i.e., difference from the desired tone signal. The difference signal represents the difference between the desired tone signal and the basic tone signal. Since the basic tone signal is constituted by basic tone data whose data amount can be substantially reduced as compared to an amount of data required for reproducing the desired tone signal itself with a high resolution and the difference signal is constituted by difference data whose data amount can be very small. Therefore, a tone synthesization by combining the basic tone signal and the difference signal contributes greatly to the simplification of the circuit construction of an electronic musical instrument.
