摘要： A sound generating analog synthesizer that is comprised of potentiometers, a switch or switches and a set of patch jacks has a control system that can be operated in three modes, a manual mode, an automatic mode, and a guided mode; wherein manual mode allows potentiometer and switch positions as well as patch cable connections to be set by hand; wherein automatic mode, automatically sets patch connections as on or off, as well as set potentiometer positions and switch states with electromechanical or electrical devices; and wherein the guided mode provides at least one visual information on how to change the potentiometer positions, switch states and patch jack connections such that a previously obtained sound can be reproduced.

摘要： A digital multi-media device provides features for a user unskilled in musical arts or sound handling techniques that provides automatic musical score composition in accordance with contained composition instructions. Stored sound samples and interfaces for obtaining external signals provide signals for merger with visual and sound presentations to obtain altered presentations either time shifted or in real time. In this fashion the user can create simulated radio stations for playback of prearranged and composed audio material. Further, the automatically composed musical score may be mixed with synthesized, digitized signals from the stored sound samples and external signals obtained through the device interfaces.

摘要： A method for the synthetic generation of a digital audio signal by means of periodic sampling of a waveform shall permit the user a particularly simple and intuitive access to the changing and creative transformation of the waveform on which the sampling is based. For this purpose, according to the invention, the waveform is specified by using control points, which, in addition to position parameters, may contain further attributes, of which the parameters and attributes can be changed individually over time by means of control signals or spontaneouseous intervention. The control-point values which result in this way can be interpreted either as direct amplitude-period phase or as magnitude-frequency or phase-frequency pairs. A continuous waveform is generated by interpolation or approximation of the control points and the parameters/attributes of the latter, which assume a time-specific value depending on the current control signals and other influences, and is used for further processing, e.g. spectral band limiting.

摘要： A delay time counter in a DSP cyclically counts a sampling clock from zero to a delay time sampling count and issues a delay time interrupt to a CPU each time the sampling clock count reaches the delay time sampling count. The CPU measures a time difference between each time the DSP issues the delay time interrupt and each time sequence clock interrupts occur a number of times corresponding to the delay time. Then, in order to reduce this time difference, the CPU increases or decreases a maximum count that is set to the sequence clock counter. Therefore, in the next delay process, the shift between the time by which the automatic performance is advanced by the CPU (which is equal to the delay time) and the timing of the delay process executed by the DSP (which is also equal in length to the delay time) will be corrected.

A query pattern indicative of a sound generation pattern to be made an object of search is input by a user. In response to a user's operation, one part performance data is identified from among searched-out results, and the sound generation pattern of the identified part performance data is instructed as a new query pattern. Then, a further search is made through the database for part performance data including a sound generation pattern matching the new query pattern. The searched-out pattern can be edited by the user and a further search can be made based on the edited pattern.
