摘要:
An electronic noise attenuation system for attenuating a sound wave propagated from a source of noise by generating another sound wave 180.degree. out of phase and having the same sound pressure with the propagated sound wave from electro-mechanic transducer means disposed in a propagation passage of sound waves. In the electronic noise attenuation system, a drive signal for drive the electro-mechanic transducer means is generated in accordance with output signals respectively output from upstream-side and downstream-side mechano-electric transducer means respectively disposed in the propagation passage with the electro-mechanic transducer means therebetween. Namely, the drive signal is created by performing an operation on a difference signal between the output signal of the upstream mechano-electric transducer means and the drive signal according to a given transfer function. Also, the transfer function is determined in accordance with the difference signal and the output signal of the downstream mechano-electric transducer means.

A personal audio device, such as a wireless telephone, includes noise canceling that adaptively generates an anti-noise signal from a reference microphone signal and injects the anti-noise signal into the speaker or other transducer output to cause cancellation of ambient audio sounds. An error microphone is provided proximate the speaker to measure the output of the transducer in order to control the adaptation of the anti-noise signal and to estimate an electro-acoustical path from the noise canceling circuit through the transducer. The anti-noise signal is adaptively generated to minimize the ambient audio sounds at the error microphone. A processing circuit that performs the adaptive noise canceling (ANC) function also filters one or both of the reference and/or error microphone signals, to bias the adaptation of the adaptive filter in one or more frequency regions to alter a degree of the minimization of the ambient audio sounds at the error microphone.

An active noise control system includes sensors 16,26 which detects noise 114 and provides electronic signals to an active noise control (ANC) controller 20. The controller provides electronic anti-noise signals to a speaker 24 which is connected to, and provides acoustic anti-noise into, a plurality of active resonators 120-124. The resonators 120-124 are disposed successively along the propagation direction of the noise 114 and provide time-delayed anti-noise acoustic output signals each of which attenuates a portion of the noise 114. The phasing of the anti-noise signals from the resonators 120-124 may be accomplished by acoustic and/or electronic time delays.
