    摘要： The specification discloses a web transporter such as a tape recorder wherein a drive belt is disposed around capstans, a drive pulley and an idler, the supply reel including the tape thereon is belt-driven, and the take-up reel including the tape thereon is edge-driven by a capstan and the drive belt reeved therearound. Four-bar-linkage means are disclosed for mounting the supply and take up reels so that the points of engagement of the tape on the reels are maintained irrespective of the tape inventory on the reels. Tension in the tape is achieved by the dimensions of the system components and constant tension is maintained in the tape by the mechanism during recording or playback in either direction. The four-bar-linkage enables better counterbalancing of the operating parts to be maintained.

    摘要： A changeover mechanism for the magnetic heads or pinch rollers comprises a pair of first movable levers, each of which is provided with a lever gear which is engaged with a reel gear and on the surface of which a stopper is mounted, a pair of electromagnetic solenoids, in each of which a movable rod is pulled outward upon receipt of a signal denoting to arrival of the end of a tape for engagement with the stopper of the lever gear to brake the rotation of the lever gear, thereby preventing the rotation of the lever gear itself and effecting the revolution of the lever gear about the reel gear for the drive of the first lever. The changeover mechanism further comprises a pair of second levers which is connected to the first lever, and, at the drive of the first lever, is rotated for engagement with the swingable magnetic head support board or pinch roller support board to rock it, thereby effecting the selective operation of the paired magnetic heads on the paired pinch rollers among themselves. Power required to swing the magnetic head support board or pinch roller support board is supplied by a motor through the reel gear, and the selective operation of the magnetic heads or pinch rollers among themselves is carried out simply by braking the rotation of the first lever upon receipt of a changeover instruction.

    摘要： A tape transport control system for monitoring the amount of tape on a tape reel using first transducer means to provide a signal representative of rotational speed of the tape reel and second transducer means to provide a similar representation of the rotational speed of a tape drive capstan. The signals from the transducers are compared by a comparator circuit to determine the amount of tape remaining on the tape reel which condition is represented by a predetermined ratio of the output signals obtained from the capstan and reel transducer means. The output signal from the comparator can be used to reverse or stop the tape transport to prevent the tape from completely unwinding from the monitored tape reel. In a reel-to-reel tape transport system, the control of the tape sensing circuit is automatically switched from one reel to the other reel upon the detection of a low tape condition in a previously monitored reel, and the operation of the tape transport is reversed to transport the tape from the full reel to the empty reel.

    摘要： A tape reciprocating drive type tape recorder has two pulleys having a suitable degree of frictional resistance and rotatably mounted on the opposite ends of a swinging arm in a manner to confront two reel bases and means for transmitting rotational power in a regular direction or reverse direction to the two pulleys. The swinging arm swings in accordance with the rotational direction of the two pulleys, whereby, in accordance with the rotational direction thereof, one of the pulleys presses against the corresponding reel base to transmit rotational power thereto. By merely changing over the rotational direction of the pulleys, the two pulleys can be selectively caused to press against the reel bases.
