    摘要: A signal pickup device comprises a reproducing element for reproducing recorded signals from recording tracks of a rotary recording medium, a holder having said reproducing element mounted at its tip end, a cantilever having the rear end of said holder mounted at its tip end, force applying coil for applying a force to the rear end side of the cantilever so that the reproducing element makes contact with the rotary recording medium having a predetermined pressure, and control coils for applying force at the rear end side of the cantilever so that tracking control is performed, by displacing said reproducing element in a direction perpendicular with respect to the longitudinal direction of the recording tracks of the rotary recording medium. The cantilever, holder and reproducing element constructs a cantilever assembly, the holder forms a plate-shaped member in which the width in the direction substantially parallel to the rotating surface of the rotary recording medium is larger than the length in the direction perpendicular to the rotating surface, and the holder and the cantilever assembly have a first resonance frequency respective of their spring constant and moment of inertia wherein said resonance frequency is selected at a frequency lower than a frequency f.sub.c at which the response of the servo loop open loop characteristic of the control means becomes zero. The above cantilever has the first resonance frequency at the plane substantially parallel to the rotating surface of the rotary recording medium selected at a frequency higher than the frequency f.sub.c at the rear end side thereof.

    摘要: A stylus assembly for damping impulsive radial motion of the stylus during playback of a grooved video disc record. Included in the stylus assembly is a moment arm perpendicularly attached at the free end of the stylus arm and parallel to the disc record when the stylus is engaged for playback. A mass is mounted to the moment arm to contribute increased inertia to lateral motion of the stylus only in a direction radially across the record. The mass is designed to permit tracking a record groove in the presence of groove eccentricity but to resist motion due to impulsive forces imparted by record defects or particulate matter thereon.

    摘要: A field effect transistor has the property that the product of its series resistance and its true transconductance is less than one throughout the entire range of drain voltage in the operative state of the transistor, the series resistance being the sum of the resistance from source to channel and the resistance of this channel. In order to prevent an excessive increase in the active resistance of the channel, the channel is made to have an impurity concentration as low as less than 10.sup.15 atoms/cm.sup.3, preferably less than 10.sup.14 atoms/cm.sup.3, so that the depletion layers extending from the gates grow extensively to become contiguous in response to a small increase in the reverse gate voltage applied. As a result, the field effect transistor of this invention has an unsaturated drain current versus drain voltage characteristic.

    摘要: In a tone arm elevating mechanism, an elevator, which is arranged to raise and lower the tone arm, is driven by a solenoid, and the mechanism comprises a first rotary lever contactable with a portion of the elevator and a second rotary lever arranged to be driven by the solenoid, where the second rotary lever is operatively linked with the first rotary lever by means of an elastic member which prevents transmission of shock. Thus, the reciprocating movement of the solenoid is converted into rotational force to cause the elevator to rise gently and slowly. A viscous and resistive material may be provided to the elevator so that the elevator slowly lowers when the solenoid is deenergized. A portion of the elevating mechanism functions as an electrical switch to detect the highest position of the tone arm, while another portion may also function as another switch to detect the fact that the stylus has been placed on the record disk. The information from these switches may be fed to a circuit which controls various operations of the tone arm, thereby control of horizontal movement of the tone arm as well as antiskating can be accurately and precisely performed.

    摘要: A record player comprises a tone arm provided at the distal end thereof with a pickup cartridge, and a vibration damping device for damping a resonance of the tone arm. The damping device comprises a damping member made of an electrically conductive material and provided at the tone arm in a manner to vibrate unitarily therewith, and a damping unit inclusive of permanent magnet means for forming a magnetic field with respect to the damping member. Eddy currents are generated in the damping member when the damping member vibrates in the magnetic field, whereby damping of the vibration of the damping member and the tone arm is accomplished. The damping device may further comprise an elastic member supported at one end thereof at the tone arm and having another free end and a weight secured to the free end of the elastic member.

    摘要: An improved phonograph pickup device having a pivotally mounted tone arm on which a drive coil and a sense coil are mounted and are coupled to a magnetic field. The level of current flow to the drive coil alters its position relative to the magnetic field. A cueing control circuit is connected for providing feedback controlled energization of the drive coil whereby damped movement of the tone arm is provided when it moves relative to the record disc. The sense coil is connected in the control circuit to provide a feedback signal for the circuit that is proportional to the velocity of the movement of the tone arm. The device also includes a cartridge responsive to both static and dynamic forces exerted between the cartridge and the record disc. The cartridge is connected as a part of a force control circuit which also provides feedback controlled current flow through the drive coil. When the cartridge is lowered into contact with a record disc, the force control circuit portion is operative to establish a preset force level between the cartridge and the record disc and by force feedback corrects for cartridge displacement forces represented by frequencies below the audio range, such as those presented by record warpage. The output of the cartridge is proportional to the force level present between the cartridge and the record disc surface. This output is feed back to the force control circuit. This circuit also provides a reference signal which establishes the preset force level and which is applied to a phase correction network including an amplifier, the output of which establishes the level of current flow to the drive coil. A control selection circuit coupled to the force control and the cueing control circuits selects the cueing control circuit to control the energization of the drive coil in response to an up or down cueing signal and selects the force control circuit to control the energization of the drive coil when the force level between the cartridge and the record disc is at least half of the desired force level.
