    摘要: A sensor is associated with a mounting surface. An O-ring is then positioned between the sensor and the mounting surface, such that the O-ring is compressible when the sensor is fixed to the mounting surface. A fixing mechanism is generally provided for permanently fixing the sensor to the mounting surface, such that the O-ring located between the sensor and the mounting surface provides a proper tension thereof which prevents the sensor from being adversely affected by vibration resulting from a harsh vibration environment in which the sensor operates. The fixing mechanism can be implemented as a fixing joint between the sensor and the mounting surface. Additionally, the O-ring and the sensor are configured with respect to one another and the mounting surface to maintain tension in the fixing joint.

The sensor assembly (12) has an inner portion (64) with an electrical pickup (20) which is electrically responsive to a condition inside the housing (16). The sensor assembly (12) further has an outer portion (30) with a pair of electrodes (24) for connection in an electrical circuit. The shell (14) has an installed position in which it supports the inner portion (64) of the sensor assembly (12) inside the housing (16) and supports the outer portion (30) of the sensor assembly (12) outside the housing (16). A detent structure (90-94) on the shell (14) snaps into interlocked engagement with the housing (16) upon movement of the shell (14) to the installed position.

    摘要: A ring designed to support instrumentation modules on the rotor of a rotary machine and to withstand centrifugal accelerations significantly in excess of 500 g comprises two half-rings made of zicral (AZ5GU) alloy clamped to the rotor shaft. In order for the ring to remain attached to the shaft at speeds up to and in excess of the maximum speed thereof, there are formed in the cylindrical perimeter of the ring a central groove and two side grooves. A tape of glass fibers impregnated with a polymerizable resin is wound on under tension in superposed layers, initially into the central groove and then into the side grooves. The wound tape is then immobilized under tension by polymerizing the resin.

    摘要: The cathode ray tube assembly of a visual display unit is suspended over the static base in a cradle, the suspension pivots being as close as possible to the center of gravity of the moving section. Attached to the underside of the cradle is a bracket with forked arms. The forks engage with a spindle carrying a pair of friction pads and a helical compression spring. The spindle runs in a curved slot in a bracket attached to the static base. The friction pads are situated one on each side of the bracket and are maintained in intimate contact with it by the helical spring generating a friction force. Thus a force of sufficient magnitude applied to the moving part of the visual display unit will overcome the friction force and permit it to move, although normally the friction force will hold it in the required position.

The plate is internally traversed by a heating wire and is recessed near one of its edges to provide a platform on which temperature-sensing control elements such as a thermostat, a heat limiter and an alarm indicator can be positioned in close proximity to the wire.     摘要: Means for mounting a member functioning with a directivity to a mounting station of an associated device or the like. A housing for the member with its functional end surface exposed to the exterior is tapered at the periphery toward the other end to be, for example, hemispherical and rotatably born at diametrally opposed positions adjacent the functional end surface by both ends of a semiarcuate bearing means, the mounting station has a hole including peripherally opposing grooves of a size and shape capable of slidably engaging with the tapered periphery of the housing and receiving semiarcuate body of the bearing means, the housing is inserted in the hole on said the other end side, and the semiarcuate body of the bearing means in the inserted position of the member engages slidably with a resilient means acting to resiliently urge the tapered periphery of the housing against peripheral edge of the hole. In this mounted state, the functional surface of the member is allowed to be manually freely inclined in all 360.degree. directions with respect to the plane of the mounting station to set the directivity and normally stably retained in set inclined position.
