摘要： Embodiments of the invention disclose methods of assembling and using an adjustable inductor to vary inductance. An adjustable inductor, according to embodiments of the invention, includes a wire coil configured to mount on a first side of a conductive plate. The wire coil is conductive and is a plurality of windings. A core has a first portion and a second portion. The first and second portions are configured with a plurality of grooves for threading engagement with the plurality of windings of the wire coil. The threading engagement attaches the core to the plurality of windings of the wire coil. Rotating the core results in varied inductance.

摘要： A coil for a variable transformer is provided having multiple layers of wire. Winding of such a coil is facilitated by providing an end form having a series of raised fins, or partitions, between which stacked layers of wire are held. The construction provides for easy and economical machine-winding and ensures that the segments of wire forming the commutating surface are held relatively immovable with respect to each other, thus preserving the integrity of the commutating surface.

摘要： This concerns the fabrication of an integrally-wound helixcoilform assembly for an antenna of, for example, the high voltage and high power tunable helix-cylinder (inductance/capacitance) monopole type. Preassembled on a collapsible, cylindrically-shaped mandrel are a wound helix of controlled pitch, an end coupling to which the helix is affixed at one end, and a binding post securing the other end of the helix wire. After the entire assembly is enclosed in a plastic covering such as teflon shrink tubing or adhesive-backed tape helically wound to a predetermined tension and pattern, cycloaliphatic epoxy resin-saturated glass fibers are wound in a carefully controlled manner over the entire assembly in a predetermined pattern and then cured. The tensioned plastic covering together with the controlled winding of glass fibers provides for the interlaminar shear faces of the coilform structure type to be formed as convolutions between the helix turns, thus giving rise to an integrally-constructed assembly far superior both structurally and electrically.

摘要： Alternating current voltage control apparatus comprises a coarse and a fine voltage regulator feeding the primary winding of a buck/boost transformer the secondary of which is connected in series with a load. The coarse voltage regulator has two movable contacts capable of passing one another, and has the ends of the winding connected to the two poles of an alternating current supply of the same frequency as that connected to the load. The fine regulator is connected between one contact on the coarse regulator and one pole of the supply and itself carries a movable contact. The primary of the buck/boost transformer is connected between the other movable contact on the coarse voltage regulator and the movable contact on the fine regulator.

摘要： A slide transformer has two taps on each winding of a coil wound around the magnetic path of an iron core. The taps are connected to contacts respectively and a brush is slideable across these contacts. In a transformer with a shell-type iron core, one of these taps comes out of the upper side of the iron core, the other comes out of the lower side. In a transformer with a coretype iron core, one of the taps is connected to a contact through a hole provided in the magnetic path of the iron core, and the other is connected directly to the other contact.
