A switch includes a casing and first and second conductive blades. A conductive strip made of a material that bends when subject to a temperature rise is fixed to the first blade and has a free end. A conductive plate is arranged inside the casing and in electrical connection with the second blade and movable between an engaged position where the conductive plate engages the conductive strip to form an electrical connection between the first and second blades and a disengaged position where the conductive plate disengages from the conductive strip to electrically disconnect the second blade from the first blade. When an overload occurs, an excessive current flows through the conductive strip, causing the strip to bend from a normal operation condition to a breaking condition that separates the conductive strip from the conductive plate. A link is coupled to the conductive plate and defines an elongated slot receiving the free end of the conductive strip therein. The elongated slot allows the conductive plate to move between the engaged and disengaged positions without causing movement of the conductive strip while when the conductive strip is in the breaking condition, the link drivingly couples the conductive strip to the conductive plate for returning the conductive strip back to the normal operation condition. A leaf spring is pivoted between the casing and the conductive strip to retain the conductive strip in the breaking condition until the conductive strip is driven by the link back to the normal operation condition.

The bimetal sheet is of a U shape having a working end and an opening end. The working end can deflect to an overload position from a normal position in the event of overload. The actuating unit comprises a stem, a positioning means, a rocking lever, an enabling lever, and a lever reseating member. By means of the above structure, a trip action could be assured no matter what happens on the stem.

A cross bar is fitted to the bottom of the push-pull element while both ends of the cross bar are disposed in the slide grooves. Accordingly, the push-pull element is able to change path and locating position in the slide grooves. Moreover, the conductive strip can be controlled in on/off-state by means of the force in different directions. Beside, the free end of the conductive strip is kept in an independent state so that the conductive strip is transformed into the off-state in case of overload. Consequently, the safety of the user can be ensured.

An overload-protection push-button switch with automatic resetting mechanism of pull-push type is disclosed. The switch is characterized in that a pull-push rod and a floating rocker are used to transmit a force on a pressing stem to a conducting leaf. Moreover, a guiding mechanism including a guider and a guided-member on the floating rocker is used to guide the moving direction of the floating rocker under the action of the pull-push rod. Thus, the direction force on the pressing stem can be different from the moving direction of the nose of the floating rocker by which the conducting leaf is actuated. Moreover, in case of overload, a positioning unit for positioning the pressing stem will be unlocked and thus the pressing stem can automatically return to its reset position. In view of the above, a push-button switch that has simple and easily-assembled structure as well as an operation of exactly tripping is available.

A push button type switch comprises a body and drive means. The body has a hollow interior portion that is formed as two operation spaces by a spacing portion with a through hole thereon. The two spaces each being arranged with a press element having a protrusion enclosing with an operation area and a plurality of conductive elements same ends of which have respective switching element. The driving means include a depressing element connected to the operation area and has an end passing through the through hole of the spacing portion. An elastic element covers on the pressing element and has an end connected to the spacing portion; and a rotary seat is pivotally installed on the body and has a guide groove for supporting the depressing element. One end of the rotary seat has a positioning portion connected to the switching means so that as a force applies to the pressing element. The depressing element is pressed to compress the elastic element, and another end of the depressing element resists against the guide groove so that the rotary seat shifts to drive the switching means to conduct the conductive elements. By the restoring elastic force of the elastic element, the pressing element and the depressing element are restored to the original condition.
