Abstract: A communications apparatus to resolve a composite signal including an induced nonlinear distortion, a desired signal and interferer signals, wherein the desired signal includes desired symbols and the interferer signals include interferer symbols using N frameworks, each framework including a detector to partition the desired symbols and the interferer symbols based on an interference severity into a dominant group and a non-dominant group, and to generate A Posteriori Probabilities (APP) of the desired symbols and the interferer symbols, wherein the detector of each of the N frameworks generates the APP based on a feedback of the APP from each of the N frameworks, and the detector reduces the induced nonlinear distortion of the desired signal using a nonlinear mathematical model such as Volterra series.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rates than 4G systems such as LTE. A method for operating a proxy in a wireless communication system combining a terrestrial network and a satellite network according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: acquiring, from a server for managing a satellite, configuration information about a satellite cell that connects with a user equipment in which a transport control protocol (TCP) session is to be set up; calculating a first round trip time (RTT) between the satellite cell and the satellite and the data rate of the satellite cell on the basis of the configuration information about the satellite cell; and setting a congestion window (CWND) value for the TCP session on the basis of the first RTT and the data rate of the satellite cell.

Abstract: A constellation of many satellites provide communication between devices such as user terminals (UTs) and ground stations that are connected to other networks, such as the Internet. A constellation management system (CMS) facilitates management and operation of the satellites in the constellation and facilitates information exchange with other authorized systems to provide for situationally aware operation. The CMS may ingest data such as satellite telemetry, space weather data, object ephemeris data about other orbital objects, and so forth. The CMS uses the ingested data to automatically operate satellites to perform routine activities such as station keeping maneuvers, maintenance activities, interference mitigation, and so forth. Confirmation from a human operator may be obtained before performing some activities. Activities may be planned and coordinated to minimize resource consumption for the individual satellite as well as the constellation. Output, such as ephemeris data, may be provided to other parties as well.

Abstract: A satellite communication system and method are presented for operation in one or more frequency bands to simultaneously relay data signals between a plurality of remote terminals and one or more ground stations (gateways) in both return and forward links. This allows the remote terminal to be of a few centimeters in size. The satellite communication system comprises a processor configured and operable to receive from each of the remote terminals an uplink return signal in the form of a plurality of terminal return signals spread over a predetermined first frequency allocation in said one or more frequency bands according to a predetermined spread function, de-spread the received plurality of terminal return signals, and generate a downlink return signal, corresponding to at least some of the received plurality of spread terminal return signals and having a predetermined second frequency allocation, to be sent to one of the ground stations.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method by which an access network (AN) node of a wireless communication system manages a session by using backhaul information, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, may comprise the steps of: selecting an access and mobility management function (AMF) when a registration request message is received from a user equipment (UE); selecting one transport network layer association (TNLA) from among candidate TNLAs for the selected AMF by considering the type of backhaul network of a control plane; transmitting an initial UE message to the selected AMF by using the selected TNLA; and performing a registration procedure of the UE when a selected TNLA response signal is received from the selected AMF, wherein the candidate TNLA can include a low earth orbit (LEO) and/or a geosynchronous earth orbit (GEP).
