    Abstract: The disclosure discloses methods and systems for securing documents submitted for scanning at a device such as a multi-function device. The method includes scanning a document received from a user. A user interface is provided to the user to define a document type and to further define an access level for accessing the scanned document. Then, scanned data is generated. The scanned data is encoded based on a unique identity of the device and based on the access level such that the scanned data is accessible by the user and/or by one or more other users according to the defined access level. Finally, the scanned document is generated. Later when the scanned document is accessed by any user, details of the user accessing the scanned document is matched with details added in the encoded scanned data. Based on matching, the user is allowed to access the scanned document.

    Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, a protection-target document sheet determining portion determines whether or not a protection-target image is included in a read image that is obtained by an image reading device, the protection-target image satisfying a predetermined protection condition. An operation detection sensor detects a removal operation of removing the document sheet from the document sheet support portion. An image output device executes a read image output process that includes printing the read image or outputting data of the read image to outside. A control device, in a case where it has been determined that a protection-target image is included in the read image, causes the image output device to execute the read image output process only after the removal operation is detected after the image is read from the document sheet.

    Abstract: Disclosed are various examples of providing analog security for digital data. A first framelet is decrypted. The first framelet includes a first set of subpixels for each pixel of content requested from a network service. A second framelet is also decrpyted. The second framelet includes a second set of subpixels for the respective pixel of the content. The first framelet and the second framelet are rendered separately. The first framelet is visually aligned with the second framelet to reproduce the content. A shade of each pixel is reproduced based on the first plurality of subpixels being visually aligned with the second plurality of subpixels.

    Abstract: Provided is a document management system for managing document data by applying access restrictions to each metadata acquired by character recognition of document data to be managed. The mage forming apparatus acquires document data to be managed. The image-processing server performs character recognition of document data and acquires metadata. The image forming apparatus specifies metadata to be concealed in document data. The image forming apparatus receives a security setting, correlates a metadata name to be concealed with the security setting, and transmits the security setting together with document data to the image-processing server. The document-management server, in the case where there is an access request from a user for document data, allows access to the document data based on the security setting by not masking metadata for which there is access authority, and masking metadata for which there is no access authority.
