摘要: Disclosed is a plate warming apparatus for use in keeping food warm in a restaurant. The invention has four primary components: a serving plate; a heater assembly; a plate adapter for coupling the plate and heater assembly; and a base fixture that enables the adapter to be selectively coupled to the heater assembly. These elements allow the heater assembly to heat the underside of a serving plate and, thereby, keep food warm as it is delivered to and consumed at a user's table. The invention allows the heater assembly to be uncoupled from the underside of the plate and recharged as necessary for reuse on other serving plates.

摘要: A beverage heating system is provided. The beverage heating system includes a container for storing a beverage within an interior volume. A heating element of the container provides thermal energy to the beverage. A docking station engages with the container and provides power to a power supply of the container. The power supply and a thermostat control the amount and intensity of thermal energy provided by the heating elements. In one embodiment, the heating element is one or more heating rings positioned along an interior side of the sidewall at vertical intervals. The thermostat further includes a timer and alarm that are programable to activate the heating element or an indicator.

摘要: A burner sensor is electrically interconnected with a control circuit, the burner sensor enabled for detection of burner operation, the control circuit providing a timing feature enabled, during burner operation, for continuous repetitive timing cycles each for a fixed selected time interval and for activating at least one of an audio, i.e., buzzer, and a visual alarms for a fixed duration, at the completion of each of the timing cycles. Thus the operator is alerted to the fact that a heating coil is hot so that a significant burn and fire hazard is avoided.

摘要: In a food service system, prepared meals including chilled foods are assembled in individual meal trays (10) and held in the trays for a period prior to regeneration to prepare the food for heating. A control system of a rethermalizing trolley (12), which accommodates a large number of trays, can discern for itself which dishes (30) in the trays need heating and which are to remain cool. Dishes for hot and cold foods have white and black markings respectively, which results in reflected infra-red signals from sensors (42, 44) of the control system to be of discernably different strengths, so identifying the hot food dishes. Dish temperature is continually monitored by the control system by means of thermal contact with thermistors (46), which enables the system to oversee food temperatures both prior to and during regeneration.

摘要: A utensil removal detection arrangement for a cooking appliance incorporating an automatic surface unit. The duration of time intervals during which the sensed utensil temperature for a turned-on surface unit is less than a threshold temperature is measured. If such a time interval exceeds a predetermined time limit, the surface unit is de-energized and a user discernible signal is generated indicating to the user that no utensil is present on the surface unit.

摘要: A power disconnect assembly for a plug-in electric heating element adapted to support and heat a cooking vessel and its contents. The assembly includes a terminal block with terminals for receiving the plug-in heating element and supplying electrical power thereto. A double pole switch with contacts connected to line voltage and to the terminal block is provided and a solenoid is utilized to open and close the double pole switch. Means are provided to detect the presence and absence of a cooking vessel on the heating element and means cooperating with the cooking vessel detection means to deenergize the solenoid in the event of cooking vessel absence and open the double pole switch thus terminating electrical power to the terminal block.
