The system further comprises at least one radiation shield pipe, housed in the outer pipe and thermally coupled with the radiation shield, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a second cryogen for the radiation shield being made to flow through the radiation shield pipe.

    摘要: A combined electrical power and hydrogen energy infrastructure includes a superconducting electrical transmission line. One or more fluid paths are adapted to cool one or more superconductors of the electrical transmission line to a superconducting operating condition and to deliver hydrogen in a liquid state. The combined electrical power and hydrogen energy infrastructure also includes a supply apparatus to pump hydrogen into the one or more paths and to cool and pressurize the hydrogen to maintain the hydrogen in a liquid state. A distribution apparatus is operatively coupled to the one or more fluid paths at a different location along or at an end of the electrical transmission line to draw off the hydrogen for distribution of the hydrogen for use as a hydrogen fuel. An electrical transmission line and a method for supplying a fluid via an electrical transmission line are also described.

    摘要: A fixation structure for fixing a superconducting cable including a cable core and a thermal insulation tube. The fixation structure includes a fixation box connected to the thermal insulation tube, including a hollow thermal insulation structure, and through which the cable core is passed, a fixation body for fixing the cable core on the inner wall of the fixation box, and a diameter-expanded reinforcement layer that is an electrical insulation layer that has a diameter decreasing toward both ends and is formed on the cable core. A refrigerant flows through the inside of the inner wall of the fixation box. The cable core is fixed on the inner wall with the fixation body through the diameter-expanded reinforcement layer. The structure implements a simple and low-cost fixation structure appropriate for an electric field design.

Liquid nitrogen contained in a cooling agent supply is pumped by means of a pump (9) through a first end closure and the cryostat to a second end closure. At least one vacuum insulated tank (7) is used for the cooling agent supply, where the tank (7) contains nitrogen at operating temperature and out of which the nitrogen is pumped. For making available a quantity of liquid nitrogen necessary for operating the plant, the supply of liquid nitrogen contained in the tank (7) is supplemented during operation or is switched over to another tank (10) containing liquid nitrogen.

The flexible cryostat disclosed here in an embodiment includes a polymer pipe as the outer surface of the cryostat. In an embodiment, both the inner and outer pipes of a cryostat are replaced with polymer pipes which have the same or different thickness and composition. One or both of the polymer pipes can be used in combination with a permeation barrier, which is, in separate embodiments, ethylene vinyl alcohol, or a metallic layer such as aluminum or stainless steel. The flexible polymer pipe can surround the permeation barrier, or the permeation barrier can be positioned at the inner or outer surface of one or both flexible polymer pipes.
