    摘要: The invention offers a superconducting-cable core that comprises a superconducting conductor and an insulating layer covering the outer circumference of the superconducting conductor. The superconducting-cable core is classified longitudinally into a cable portion and a jointing-structure-forming portion that is located at each end of the cable portion and that serves as the portion in which a complementary insulating structure is formed when jointed with another conducting member. Of the superconducting-cable core, the jointing-structure-forming portion is at least within the range from the end of the superconducting-cable core to the end of the complementary insulating structure. The jointing-structure-forming portion has an insulating layer whose insulation performance is higher than that of the insulating layer of the cable portion, so that even when the cable itself cannot be designed with a sufficient margin in its insulation, a highly reliable joint can be formed.

    摘要: A coaxial electric power transmission cable has an inner conductor within an outer conductor with solid dielectric material provided in the space therebetween. The dielectric material is solid at operating temperatures but non-solid at ambient temperature. An insulative spacer is provided for maintaining the coaxial alignment. The spacer includes insulative material which is identical to the solid dielectric material and may include a solid insulative insert having a solidification point higher than the insulative material whereby at least approximate coaxial spacing may be maintained should the insulative material not be maintained as a solid.

    摘要: A three-phase high-voltage superconducting cable having three hollow superconductors in a trefoil configuration and three heat shields disposed radially outward from the superconductors, all enclosed in an evacuated pipe. The heat shields are also in a trefoil configuration; they are electrically isolated from one another, from the superconductors, and from ground in order to suppress the flow of induced currents. The pipe provides mechanical protection of the foregoing elements, serves as vacuum vessel and carries the a-c shielding current induced by the cable load current.
