摘要： An operating unit (5) for operating a window covering. The operating unit (5) includes a housing (11), a rotatable drive pulley (13) having an axis of rotation and first and second mounting positions in the housing, with respect to the axis of rotation, an engagement device (15), rotatable about the axis of rotation, and a brake mechanism (45, 47, 49) for, in use, arresting the engagement device when the drive pulley (13) is not rotated and preventing the engagement device and drive pulley from being back driven by the window covering. The engagement device (15) has a plurality of circumferentially spaced pins (19) parallel to the axis of rotation. The drive pulley (13) has a corresponding plurality of openings (17) facing the pins (19). In the first mounting position, the pins on the engagement device (15) engage with the corresponding openings (17) in the drive pulley and the engagement device rotates with the drive pulley. In the second mounting position, the pins (19) do not so engage and the engagement device (15) thereby can rotate relative to the drive pulley (13).

摘要： A trough shade system and method of use provide improved support for a roller tube and shade material. The roller tube and wound shade material are located within a support cradle to minimize unwanted deflection by the roller tube and associated wrinkling and deformation of the shade material. Various mechanisms allow the roller tube a limited range of movement within the support cradle. The system is suitable for shading larger areas than other shading systems which rely on roller tubes with fixed supports at the ends.

摘要： An end mounting for supporting the roller of a cover for an architectural opening, the end mounting including a main body of substantially constant cross-section extending axially from a proximal end for mounting adjacent an architectural opening to a distal end for insertion into an end opening of a roller. A slider is mounted in the main body at an axial location towards the proximal end of the main body and is movable between a retracted position wholly within the cross-section of the main body and an extended position in which at least part of the slider protrudes outside the cross-section of the main body. With the slider in the retracted position, substantially all of the main body can be inserted into the end opening of the roller and, with the slider in the extended position, the main body is prevented by the slider from being inserted into the end opening of the roller beyond the slider.

This elastic member is adapted to form a stop against the displacement of the connection tab with respect to the support in a sense of separation of the tab with respect to the support.

摘要： The improved automatically retractable sun shade assembly includes a bracket having an elongated preferably detachable spine and a pair of connector holders at opposite ends of the spine and spaced forwardly thereof. The holders preferably have female slots therein in which are releasably received male connectors which include longitudinally aligned elongated extensions spaced from the spine, but parallel thereto. The facing ends of the extensions releasably hold opposite ends of an elongated closed loop rubber band which is twisted around its longitudinal axis. The rubber band is disposed in the central space of a hollow open ended tube parallel to but spaced from the spine. The open opposite ends of the tube slideably receive the extensions. The tube can rotate around the extensions. The tube has an opening in its sidewall through which a pin passes and is connected to the exterior of the tube. The pin passes between the two legs of the twisted rubber band to transmit the rotary force of the rubber band to the tube. A sun shade has one end connected to the exterior of the tube, the bodyof the shade being wrapped around the outside of the tube and the opposite free end bearing a hook or other retainer for releasably holding the shade in the extended operative position. The shade automatically retracts due to the rotary force of the rubber band. The assembly is light weight, inexpensive and durable.

摘要： A curtain rod and window shade holder formed of a metal sheet having a main portion with an arcuate lower edge, a flat upper edge, and a rear portion which is bent to hook over a window frame, the sheet having a curtain rod holding portion struck outwardly from an intermediate portion of the main portion to receive the end of a conventional curtain rod of the channel type. The curtain rod and window shade holder also has an opening to receive a pin of a window shade roller. There is a right and left window shade holder, and one of these has a slot to receive a flat pin of a roller shade and the other has a circular opening to receive a round pin. In addition, there are openings extending downwardly from the flat upper edges of the sheet to receive round curtain rods. The whole unit can be formed by a simple stamping operation from a single flat piece of metal.
