摘要： An item holder mountable by suction on a mounting surface including a deformable and transparent body. The body includes an outer surface, an inner surface, and a periphery extending around the body and surrounding the outer surface and the inner surface. The body further includes a compartment having an opening adjacent the periphery and extending between the inner and outer surfaces for removably holding an item. The body is deformable from an undeformed shape to an actuated shape to mount the holder on the mounting surface by positioning the inner surface of the body adjacent the mounting surface when the body is undeformed thereby forming a cavity between the body and the mounting surface and deforming the body to its actuated shape thereby sealing the body against the mounting surface and forcing fluid out of the cavity to create a suction between the body and the mounting surface.

摘要： A container or carrier for securely carrying a substrate such as a reticle, mask, wafer, or the like during a semiconductor manufacturing process or during the transport of the substrate. The container includes a housing having an opening through which the substrate may be inserted and removed. The housing includes an open box and a lid, the lid securely held in place by a unique latching mechanism. A door that is hinged upon the lid and held in place by biasing springs substantially seals the housing opening. Within the housing are a plurality of suction cups upon which the substrate rests and which apply suction to firmly engage the substrate on only one side when the substrate is in a contained position. The suction cups hold the substrate in the contained position thereby preventing relative motion between the container and the substrate. The invention further provides for increasing the suction applied by the suction cups to the substrate by applying additional suction to modified suction cups from a vacuum pump. The invention also provides a method for securely containing a substrate within a container. The method including the step of fixing the substrate in a contained position within the substrate using suction.

The container includes three subcompartments, each of which is dedicated to the containment of a particular toiletry item. In a first embodiment, the lid of the container is hollow and is subdivided into compartments for shampoo and hair conditioner and the lid is hingedly connected to the base of the container within which a bar of soap is contained. In a second embodiment, the soap compartment holds the soap on end and the shampoo and hair conditioner are maintained in separate compartments that surmount one end of the soap dish. The containers of both embodiments are provided with an elongate looped rope so that the container may be draped around the neck of a user.
