The infill forms a layer of thickness not greater than 40 millimeters, has a grain size smaller than 5 millimeters, and consists of plastic material with a value of elastic return such that the structure has a KA value of 35-50, which enables its use for making athletics tracks.

A checkered pattern of alternating color tones is formed on the synthetic grass surface (16) for improving the natural appearance thereof. The synthetic grass surface also includes a synthetic grass warning track (34) having different tangible properties to alert a player stepping thereon that he is approaching an obstacle.

摘要： An elongate drainage channel capable of receiving runoff from an athletic surface is provided which includes a bottom wall and a pair of sidewalls extending upwardly from the opposed sides of the bottom wall. The drainage channel also includes a projection extending transversely outwardly from the exterior of at least one of the sidewalls and spaced at a predetermined distance below the open top for defining a height to which a subsurface layer is applied adjacent to the drainage channel. The projection is also fracturable from the sidewall so as to act as a mechanical fuse to prevent vibratory or tamping machinery from damaging the drainage channel. In another embodiment of the invention, an elongate channel section is provided which has a bottom surface which includes end portions which are shaped as generally planar reference surfaces. The shaped reference surfaces are generally coplanar with each other and are spaced at a predetermined distance below the open top of the channel for supporting the opposed ends of the channel section in a properly aligned position. The present invention also includes a mold for making drainage channel sections having aligned reference surfaces and associated methods for molding the drainage channel sections and for installing the drainage channel.

摘要： An artificial turf assembly has a permeable section formed of an upper layer of artificial turf and a lower layer of shock absorbing material positioned below the upper layer. An impermeable layer is positioned below the permeable section for collecting water flowing downward through the permeable section. The permeable section is separable from the impermeable layer to form a space for the water flow away from the assembly. The space may be formed by having the permeable section lying on the impermeable layer so that it lifts off the impermeable layer and floats on the water that flows through the permeable section. Alternatively, rigid spacing members may be provided for maintaining space between the permeable and impermeable layers in the absence of water.

摘要： An artificial turf system which includes a support layer, a base layer, and an outer layer. The support layer comprises an area of selected size and composition. The base layer comprises at least one grid which consists of a plurality of interconnected cells. The base layer is positioned over the support layer. Each cell forming the grid comprises an upstanding tubular member which includes an upper portion, having a first diameter, and a lower portion having a second diameter. The lower cell portion provides the cell with vertical flexibility. The plurality cells provide the grid with selected vertical movement on contact providing the artificial turf system with improved softness.
