    摘要: A drive nut has a hollow interior in which a plurality of cantilever clamping members which are arranged with equal spacing around a common circle and extend substantially parallel to the nut centerline, and which are rigidly and integrally fixed at their lower ends to the nut inner side near the bottom seating surface thereof. The clamping members thus form a substantially cylindrical passage through which a mating member with a male screw thread is forcibly driven axially from the side of the seating surface relative to the nut to be quickly but positively locked by the drive nut.

    摘要: An improved thread tapping form is used to form an internal thread convolution in a member. The thread tapping form includes a plurality of projections which are disposed on a shank having a circular cross sectional configuration. Each of the thread forming projections includes a leading section which parts the material of the member to initiate formation of the flanks of the internal thread convolution. A side section of each thread forming projection presses against the flanks of the internal thread convolution to further form the flanks. A trailing section of each projection supports the side and leading sections of the projection.

    摘要: A self-tapping, self-aligning thread repair insert is disclosed. The insert is an annular sleeve having a threaded interior surface, a partially threaded exterior surface, and an opening. The exterior surface has a tapered portion between a straight threaded portion and a straight thread-free portion. The thread-free portion and the opening are adjacent an end of the sleeve. The thread-free portion is free of threads for a distance of at least 1.5 thread widths from the end of the sleeve. The sleeve is made of a 400 series stainless steel. The sleeve is case hardened.
