Abstract:
A method-and apparatus for attracting fish using a sound producing fishing accessory the mimics the sound of a fish's prey. The apparatus provides blind positive engagement of a hook and a sound producing device embedded with an artificial bait. A fisherman is able to positively engage the sound producing device to the hook by feel alone. The sound producing device is designed and adapted to guide a hook into positive engagement therewith. The sound producing device may be adapted to include additional fishing accessories in a variety of embodiments
Abstract:
A toggle spring for a circuit breaker operating mechanism which provides better performance and reliability is provided. The toggle spring includes a unique spring eye having a back hook portion extending around a spring shank so as to dramatically increase the force supportable by the spring eye. The toggle spring is provided having a body portion having a first end and a second end. A first spring eye extends from the first end of the body portion and a shank extends from the second end of the body portion. A second spring eye extends from the shank and includes the back hook portion which extends around the shank.
Abstract:
A necklace accessory for a base necklace includes a slender supplemental member, and first and second hooks secured to respective portions of the supplemental member in spaced relation to one another. The first and second hooks are each able to releasably ensnare respective portions of the base necklace in spaced relation along the length of the base necklace to form a composite necklace having a circumferential first portion defined by the base necklace and a circumferential second portion defined by the supplemental member.
Abstract:
A hook and ornament assembly for a chandelier is provided. The assembly includes a hook with a first end terminating in a straight end-segment with a free end. A first ornament defining a straight bore is positioned on the end-segment, with the end-segment extending into the bore. The hook also has a first stop portion for limiting advancement of the first ornament further onto the hook and a second stop portion for limiting advancement of the first ornament off of the free end of the end-segment. The hook is constructed and arranged so that the straight end-segment can be spring biased away from the second stop and so that the first ornament can be positioned on and off the end-segment without permanently bending the hook. Hooks for such assemblies and methods for forming such assemblies also are provided.
Abstract:
A snap roller utilized as a snatch lock employs a pulley and a rod fabricated from a wire-like spring material to which the pulley is journalled. The rod has a portion of its length, located substantially in the central regions thereof to which the pulley is journalled. A pair of portions of the length of the wire-like rod extends radially outwardly from the longitudinal axis of the pulley in a direction substantially parallel to one another. The ends of the wire-like rod are formed into oppositely directed hooks such that each of the distal ends approach, and if desired contact the opposed length of the pair of portions of the wire-like rod. In use, a rope or line may be passed between the hook-like ends so so as to engage a groove in the pulley due to the fact that each hook-like end resides in planes that are skew to one another allowing the distal ends of the hooks to be forced outwardly from the opposed one of the pair of portions of the wire-like rod. An alternate embodiment utilizes a hook-like excursion of the hook-like ends of the wire-like rod which engage portions of the lengths of the wire-like rod in a locking-like arrangement, which enhance the ability of the rod to carry great forces applied to the line or the eye hook carried thereby.
Abstract:
A rigid wire material clip has its medial portion arcuately curved to form a screw receiving loop for attaching the clip to a vertical surface. The end portions of the clip diverge from the screw loop and are each doubled back upon itself to form a loop, lying in a plane normal to the screw loop, for releasably holding an endless ring, respectively.
Abstract:
A tethering device, for being incorporated into a leash used for holding a dog or other animal, the tethering device including a convolute or spiral loop at each end of the leash, and which is quickly and easily attachable to a securing ring, by simply rotating the convolute upon the ring.
Abstract:
A drapery hanger for hanging pinch pleat drapery in which a pair of horizontally spaced pleat gripping clamps are carried by a common support which is joined to a downwardly facing support hook that is to be carried on a drapery rod; the clamps grasp the two outer pleats of the pinch pleat drapery so that they are held in an opened position.
