    摘要： A door lock assembly having a first escutcheon assembly for mounting a latch mechanism. The escutcheon includes a plate having a through-hole, first and second post mounts formed on an inward facing side of the plate outside the through-hole, and first and second removable posts that are removably coupled to the first and second post mounts, respectively, such that they are removable without permanent alteration to the escutcheon. The latch mechanism includes a shaft coupled with the bushing, a torsion spring having two distal ends for centering an angular position of the, wherein the two distal ends rest against a stop formed on the inward facing side of the escutcheon, and wherein at least one distal end is engaged with the off-centered protrusion of the bushing. The bushing may also include an ear protruding radially for engagement with a penannular portion formed in the through-hole of the escutcheon.

    摘要： A latch bolt mechanism of a tubular lock allows adjustment in backset by using an extension casing. The latch bolt mechanism has a latch bolt housing having a latch bolt mounted therein, the latch bolt being movable beyond a face plate or retracted into the face plate. Two plates are connected together and mounted to an inner end of the latch bolt. The plates includes aligned two first positioning holes, aligned second positioning hole, and aligned openings. An actuating plate is mounted between the plates and includes an end operably connected to the latch bolt. The other end of the actuating plate includes two teeth each having a block formed thereon. The blocks are pressed against by a follower plate that also includes two teeth. When either tooth of the actuating plate or the follower plate is pressed against by a spindle of the lockset, the latch bolt is retracted. An extension casing is mounted around the plates and movable toward or away from the latch bolt housing. The extension casing includes a first hole and a second hole through which the spindle of the lockset is selectively extended.

    摘要： An automatic deadbolt and combined latch and automatic deadbolt is disclosed whereby a manually operable control on the inside of a door may be used to enable and disable the automatic extension of the latch bolt to a comparable deadbolt position upon the closing of the door. This allows one not having a key to the lock to set the manual control and then leave a premises, whereby upon the closing of the door the latch bolt will automatically extend to a deadbolt position, being retractable therefrom to again open the door either by the use of a key from outside, or by rotation of the inner latch control to withdraw the latch. Withdrawing the latch to open the door resets the deadbolt function in the embodiment described so that upon subsequent reclosing of the door, the automatic deadbolt function will not be reactivated unless specifically called for by control of the inside side of the lock mechanism. In addition to the automatic deadbolt function, the latch may also be extended from its normal door latched position to the extended deadbolt position externally through the use of the normal lock key. An alternate embodiment in the form of an automatic deadbolt is also disclosed.

    摘要： An extended latch tube housing comprises a standard deep-drawn tubular shell having a front mounting flange and rear end wall, and a coaxial second deep-drawn shell of equal diameter with its end wall fixed to the end wall of the standard shell. The standard shell of the extended housing contains a conventional latch bolt and deadlocking mechansim, and this is actuated by tailpiece means which extends to the rear of the extended housing for connection with the retractor of a cylinder lock chassis. The rear of the extended housing carries ears for connection with such chassis, preferably as part of a back plate which also locates and guides the tailpiece means. With a short housing extension, the tailpiece means may be a lengthened standard tailpiece. With a longer extension, the standard front shell assembly includes a standard tailpiece, and a second standard tailpiece member is attached thereto by a rotatably engaged connector. The back plate guides the second tailpiece member in a fixed orientation so as to maintain the connector in engagement.
