摘要: A material cutting machine has a tool mount support mounted for reciprocal movement and a tool mount supported by the tool mount support. A driver, such as a pneumatic cylinder, selectively advances and retracts the tool mount support. A control system is operatively coupled to the driver for setting the advancement force of the tool mount support when a tool supported by said tool mount contacts a workpiece, such as the edge or surface of a moving strip. In this way, the depth of cut of the tool is controlled by tool advancement force rather than by accurate positioning of the tool. In one embodiment, the tool mount support may have a head and a base and a resilient member resiliently coupling the head to the base to provide a damped resilience. With this embodiment, a transient spike in the reaction force which may result, for example, from a hard spot in the material, causes the tool to momentarily deflect. Swing links may maintain the lateral positioning of the tool whenever it momentarily retreats due to a reaction force spike. A guide for the tool mount may be pivotably mounted to a frame so that a rake angle of a tool supported by the tool mount may be varied.

The cutting tool assembly includes a holder device including an upper plate, a cylindrical collar, and a bearing disposed between the upper plate and the cylindrical collar to allow movement of the cylindrical collar relative to the upper plate. The cutting tool assembly further includes a cutting member fixedly secured to the cylindrical collar wherein movement of the cylindrical collar relative to the upper plate provides the cutting member with degrees of rotational freedom to float relative to the molded article during trimming of the flash portions and gates.

摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for use on a roof or the like which incorporates an insulation material. The invention allows workers to shave the insulating layer to smooth, remove high spots, or create slopes, valleys or sumps, in order to achieve positive slope for water drainage. As part of the invention, there is provided, an apparatus for milling the surface of a low slope substrate, comprising a milling device comprising a cylindrical tubular structure having an outer rotatable milling surface, said surface positionable adjacent said substrate and drivable in a rotary motion to mill the surface of the substrate; a milling device support upon which said milling device is mounted for movement in a milling direction; a mounting assembly for mounting said milling device to said support; said mounting assembly including means for adjusting the angle and depth of engagement of said milling surface to said substrate.

摘要: This invention describes a machine for the manufacture of small grooves in metal edge inserts typically found on the undersurface of snow skis. The machine produces ice-cutting blades by cutting grooves of approximate uniform depth a constant distance from the edge of the snow ski. With a ski positioned and secured with mounting clamps 21 so that a metal ski edge extends beyond a machine platten 10, a plurality of flattening clamps 23 flatten the typically bowed ski against a flat undersurface 22 of the machine platten 10. A cutting tool on a tool holder slidably mounted to a slide means on the platten upper surface then cuts into the metal ski edge following the curvature of the ski edge as it traverses the ski.

摘要: A mobile rail contouring machine is arranged for continuously removing suchunning surface irregularities as ripples, corrugations and overflow metal from rail heads during the continuous movement of the machine along a railroad track. The machine comprises a frame, a rail contouring tool mounting linked to the frame, and a drive for adjusting the mounting vertically relative to the running surface of the rail head and for pressing the mounting thereagainst and laterally without play against the rail head side which is not worked. A plurality of guide rollers engage the running surface of the rail head and vertically guide the mounting therealong and an additional guide roller laterally guides the mounting without play along the rail head side. A rail contouring tool head including a tool holder is mounted on the mounting between two of the guide rollers and a rail contouring tool is mounted in the tool holder.

摘要: An apparatus 28 for forming at least a portion of the edge 12,14 of airfoil 10 using a tool assembly 68 is disclosed. The tool assembly has a tool 164 with a cutting face 202 having a shape which is like the shape of the finished edge of the airfoil. Various construction details of the apparatus are developed which enable the tool to incrementally remove material while accommodating wave-like variations in the airfoil edge. In one embodiment, the apparatus has a probe assembly 166 attached to the tool which is moveable with respect to a reference surface R.sub.s on the airfoil to guide the tool.

摘要: A mobile rail contouring machine is arranged for continuously milling such running surface irregularities as ripples, corrugations and overflow metal from rail heads during the continuous movement of the machine along a railroad track. The machine comprises a frame, a rail contouring tool mounting linked to the frame, guide rollers for vertically and laterally guiding the mounting without play along the sides and the running surface of the rail head of each rail and for pressing the mounting thereagainst, and a rail contouring tool head including a tool holder arranged on the mounting. A rail contouring tool is mounted in the tool holder and the tool head is displaceable with respect to the mounting in directions extending parallel and perpendicularly to the track.
