    摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for use on a roof or the like which incorporates an insulation material. The invention allows workers to shave the insulating layer to smooth, remove high spots, or create slopes, valleys or sumps, in order to achieve positive slope for water drainage. As part of the invention, there is provided, an apparatus for milling the surface of a low slope substrate, comprising a milling device comprising a cylindrical tubular structure having an outer rotatable milling surface, said surface positionable adjacent said substrate and drivable in a rotary motion to mill the surface of the substrate; a milling device support upon which said milling device is mounted for movement in a milling direction; a mounting assembly for mounting said milling device to said support; said mounting assembly including means for adjusting the angle and depth of engagement of said milling surface to said substrate.

    摘要: An apparatus for removing the dross ridges which are formed on the lower surface of a metal workpiece during torch cutting of the workpiece. The apparatus includes a support beam having generally flat upper and lower surfaces, and a cutting edge extending longitudinally along each of its four corners. The beam is positioned to extend across and below the workpiece path of travel, and the beam is rotatable between a neutral position wherein one of the upper and lower surfaces is just below the pass line of the workpiece, and opposite tilted positions in which one of the cutting edges engages and removes a dross ridge on the lower surface of the workpiece. Each of the cutting edges comprises a plurality of separately pivotable cutting blades, so that the cutting edge formed by the blades is able to closely conform to a non-linear surface contour of the workpiece.

    摘要: An edge treatment tool having a vibratory mount to cause vibrating motion in a direction are used to treat metal edges extending in such direction. A resilient mounting may be used for the tool. The resilient mounting allows the tool to be vibrated by vibrators which oscillate with the tool or by vibrators which change length from a fixed to a resilient mount. The resilient mount is preferably provided by thin metal strips bendable about axes perpendicular both to the edge direction and to the application direction for the tool.

    摘要: A neck down cutter for notching parallel sides in a rectangular sample of corrugated material to be subjected to edge crush testing is disclosed. The cutter comprises a suction box formed with a recessed surface in the top thereof through which a motor driven cylindrical cutting element projects for rotary movement about a vertical axis. The recessed surface defines a slide path for a sample holder formed with a recessed positioning slot which receives the side edges of the sample material being cut. The sample holder is movable between a non-working position (out of cutting contact) into a working or cutting position with the cutting element. A supporting notch in the sample holder is itself initially formed via contact with the cutting element to accurately register and support the notch formed in the specimen during subsequent cutting. A method of cutting notches in rectangular corrugated test specimens is also disclosed.

    摘要: An electrolytic precision drilling process for making one or more holes in a workpiece, the axis of which hole exhibits an inclination of between 2.degree. to 20.degree. relative to the surface of the workpiece, by means of at least one tubular electrode through which a stream of an electrolyte is directed onto the workpiece, comprising positioning a guide member during the drilling for sealing the gap between the guide member and the surface of the workpiece adjacent to the hole or holes, such that a surface of the guide member forms an angular space with the surface of the workpiece, the aperture angle of the angular space being twice the angle of inclination of the electrode relative to the surface of the workpiece, and the apex of which is in the area of a sharp upper edge of each hole. If one hole is drilled in this manner, the conical angular space is formed. If there are more holes, the angular space is substantially wedge-shaped, and in this case the guide member is preferably prismatic.
